Portal 2 literally a classic game. So many people have played this game that I'd be suprised if you haven't at least hear of it. Before you finish reading this review I recommend you purchase it now so it can download faster. Over the years this has proven to be a game that people love so much, they play it over, and over, and over again.

Essentially Portal is a Sci-Fi game where you solve puzzles/tests in an old science lab controlled by cruel robot. The concept of the game is strange and hard to explain. It really is a one of a kind franchise. As you play through Portal you'll follow the story and realize the personality of the characters and come to appreciate it's bits of dark or quirky humor. Honestly the best way to realize why this game is loved so much is to just play it. Heck it's made by valve, you know it's gonna be good. The game is really full of content and gives you a good solid story that keeps you thinking and makes you get creative. This is a must have game for your library and a good example to game developers of how to be more creative with their games.

Literally try it now! You won't be disappointed.

P.S. Assuming you didn't play Portal 1, play it first! The story will make a little bit more sense and you'll be more prepared for Portal 2. Enjoy!

One of the best games ever made!
Welcome to BattleBlock Theater, one of your new favorite games. BattleBlock is essentially a platformer game where you run through levels trying to get to the exit, solving some small puzzles, while being held prisoner on an island full of cats. Pretty wacky right? What makes this game so good, you might ask. Well let me tell you

As soon as you start the story you're greeted with a goofy cutscene. Throughout the story, the narrator will make sometimes sarcastic, goofy, half-hearted, or even childish(in a funny way) jokes that make you chuckle. The concept of the game is easy and you'll catch on fast. As you progress you'll learn different techniques and aquire weapons that will help you in combat. The levels themselves are fun and easy to grasp. Some of them make you think as you learn how different blocks that make up the levels work. Once you get good enough, you can start speed running through levels and trying to beat the clock!

That's not all though. Multiplayer is great experience. You have the option to play through story mode with a teammate locally or online. Once you beat the story what are you gonna do, stop playing? NO! You got more stuff to do! There's an online system of mini games/pvp games like a basketball game, a fighting mode, and some other goofy stuff. If you want to be a little less civilized, you can hang out in the lobby for a half hour fighting other players for no reason, which can also be very fun! Online play is scarce when it comes to finding a match compared to on xbox(where I've spent most of my time playing the game) But if you arrange to play with a friend, you're bound to have a good time.

So you beat the game right? What's next?Extreme Mode! If you've beat the game on normal mode, take a crack at this. You're gonna die... A LOT! Everytime you die, you need to start over. It'll really test your patience and you're gonna break a few controllers, but you'll feel accomplished if you beat it. Plus you can carry around a big shiny gold trophy if you do.

Bored of story levels? Never fear, Furbottom's Feature is Here! Furbottoms Feature is a place where you can play community created levels as well as design your own and upload them. This makes the game more fun because you can keep playing NEW content. If you beat the featured levels you'll unlock a new character(unless you already have it.)

There's so much implementation with the steam community here. You can trade characters, upload levels to the steam workshop, sell stuff on the community market, unlock achievements, etc. There's so much to love about this game, I promise if you get it, you'll find something to like about it. Heck, It's so good I bought it twice! I'd pay $60 for this game before paying $60 for some overhyped new game.

So what are you waiting for? Try BattleBlock out! You'll LOVE it! Get this on a steam sale and you'll be getting a steal.

A reignition for my love of racing games

Enter DiRT 3, a fantastic racing game that reminded me why I loved racing games so much.

Why you should play this game
DiRT 3 is the perfect example of what a racing game should be. Essentially it's a realistic rally/offroad racing game. There's a selection of cars to choose from on every event and a variety of tracks to drive on around the world. Different races are included such as stagered starts, rally races, faceoffs, drift events, and more. The game doesn't feel boring or repetitive. Instead it gives you different things to try. There's also different arcade game modes, like infection, which is basically tag with cars. It can be very fun! The carreer mode is good too. You do get a couple of characters who narrate you through the game as you progress through your carreer, but it's not painfully cheesy like some other games. It was definitely well designed.

The mechanics of the game feel pretty good. The cars aren't too floaty and they don't all feel the same. Most of them handle well enough to be fun to drive instead of them all feeling like generic carbon copies of eachother. Driving doesn't feel impossible to control, but it's still realistic and responsive enough to keep it fun. I do reccomend turning your difficulty on medium as long as you have a little bit of experience with racing games. I find the manual shifting to be a little too difficult. The driving assists are more useful than they look at first sight. They make driving tracks a lot easier by helping you know how to control your throttle.

The graphics are very respectable too, especially for a game that came out in 2011. While you won't be drooling over them, they are still very clear and good enough to make some good screenshots or artwork. When you consider the overall package you get with this game, it's a pretty good deal.

Minor Cons
The menus and the user interface could've been a little easier to use. They're not overly complicated, but it just feels a tad bit confusing at first.

Replay ability. The replays on the game are decent enough to get some nice camera shots. But it would've been nice to have some ability to swivel around the car and track a little more during the replay. That way you could get more excat camera angles that you wanted. Instead you just have the preset ones that only allow you to swivel around the car. This means you can't get screenshots and stuff of other cars. It's more of a minor thing, but if you like to take screenshots, it's something to be aware of. Also there's a water mark that has the DiRT 3 logo. I don't know if there's any way to remove it but it can get in the way during replays.

Online community. This obviously isn't the developers fault but sometimes the online community can become polluted when games are given out. Let me explain. Recently DiRT 3 went out for free on Humble Bundle and a while back, it was temporarily free on Xbox Live. When games are given out for free, a lot more people get access to the game. But because they got it for free, they don't have the same appreciation for the game as someone would who actually bought it or had a passion for racing games. This results in a lot of nooby drivers online, but also a lot of people who will abuse the game online like driving the wrong way, crashing into you, etc. Usually these players will fade out of the community as they lose interest but it does happen. What are you gonna do though?

Still...
This is still an awesome racing game. There's so much to love about the game; The mechanics, the graphics, the cars, the variety. Really this is how a racing game should be: fun. It's not dry or boring unless your idea of fun is taking a monster truck and running over stuff. The game is realistic, immersive, and well designed. It's a great time. If you're looking for a racing game, or even looking to get into racing games, get this!

Freebie is a basic physics retro-styled game. It is very simple but still fun. The concept is easy to understand. You try to deflect the ball off the spinner to hit the right area. Of course, it's nothing crazy, and you shouldn't demand too much from a game like this, but it's still fun! There's leaderboards and new stuff added here and there, which makes it nice to pull out from time to time. For the price, why turn it down? You can easily get some trading cards and make a few cents back.
Give it a shot, you might like it!

This game is tons of fun. I bought it out of nostalgia because I used to play it years ago in a web browser. It's satasfying to strategically setup your defenses and mow down balloons faster than human vision. It always starts out slow but give it a few minutes and ballons will get bigger and stronger until you can barely hold them off. BTD is a great casual game to play anytime for when you don't want to commit to anything too time consuming. If you're not sure what to play, open this game up and next thing you know, you're having a great time!
