Even though it's 10 years old today, it's still one of the best Source Engine games that really stands the test of time, thanks to its undying support of mods (especially now that Workshop support became a thing for quite some time now).

And then 2K pulled the plug before they could rise like a phoenix from the ashes. The End.

The story of a man named "John Wyles" and a woman named "River" and a dream...a dream to go to the moon. There are three story acts in 'To The Moon': Act 1 will leave an empty feeling in your heart, Act 2 will answer questions left unanswered and Act 3 will drown your hearts in feelings and emotions that you otherwise were containing as you played. I can't spoil anything besides what is told from presentation here.

There has only been a few "games" (well, this is an 'interactive story') out there which could, despite its graphics (it was made on an RPGMaker - it wasn't meant to be innovative; it was meant to be story-rich) which could touch the hearts of people, including me. Although I was not able to sit through this particular gem in one sitting (I can't feel for a game if noises are around me all the time, and thus only play this when it's quiet enough in the middle of the night...it is 5:22 AM as we are writing this and I've finished it.). I have to say that everyone, and I mean everyone, should see this work of fiction for themselves at least once as a gamer (or even just a bystander).

9.5/10

My overall feelings towards 'To The Moon'...my words do not justify this work enough and encourage anyone reading this to take the trip as I have. If I could, I would have cried sentimental tears.

One of the best interactive stories this blogger has I've taken a look at, out of curiosity this year. This "game" may only have an hour and a few minute's worth of gameplay, but the impression it leaves on you lasts for quite a long time.

In "Serena", we see through the eyes and thoughts of the narrator (unnamed husband), waiting in a worn-down cabin, isolated in nature, for the eventual-return wife. As he waits, he/we go through his and her belongings, prompting both good and bad memories of his love life; it is then that we discover more...

Although admittedly, the voice-acting is something akin to letting Mickey Rooney narrate an animated movie or Lorenzo Music, it does have its own charm. The developers working on "Serena" have mentioned an update that may add some small surprises into the game a few days ago (at the time of this writing prior), which means this probably won't be the last time this blogger will be replaying this. Interaction is one of this blogger's my favorite elements in a video game, As every action stacks and pieces the story together, bit by bit, tempting you to look at everything interact-able for little clues to the whereabouts of Serena. For those looking for a sight-seeing point n' click game, this is a welcoming title. You're not going to be "trying it out", you will indulge in it.

8/10

PS: The playtime is wrong because I played the game on Steam Online mode while I had no internet, so it didn't accumulate it or something - I played for roughly 2 hours.
Note: First version got lost, after FireFox decided to crash - this is the half-arsed replica version of the review.
