Played since 1.6 - there is some real wacky RNG things happening on the backend making gameplay super inconsistent for no reason, the matchmaking ELO systems are effectively broken (+100 to win, -500 for loss... players of normally very high skill level being hard-stuck in low ELOs despite carrying and winning matches). It will take EVERYONE investigating and talking about it to actually change it. Anti-cheat is virtually non-existent as well.

It feels like they threw the game to devs who were either new, or didn't really care much. A lot of the maps look, design and asthetic-wise, worse than even their CS:Source counterparts, for whatever reason - like Office... Sure, the textures are higher res now, huzzah, but they look so much more generic and bland.

I really want to play; but its frustrating when doing the same exact things you are supposed to do, and its like a 50/50 chance... and nearly everything feels like a step back from CS:Go or even Source...

Might just be the best Warriors game that was ever released; or at least in the top 3 somewhere. Here's hoping steam gives us the first 2 Orochi Warriors too, because 1 already had a PC port at one point that was awesome, and Orochi Warriors 2 is also like a peak DW4/5 Era game.

Also, Samurai Warriors 2 already has a full PC port, so throw that up here while you're at it too, I'll happily rebuy these old clunkers on steam.

The best fusion and weapon system, tons of unlockable stages and characters, with DLC included there's even MORE stages, as well as a scenario creator, gauntlet mode - etc. You just get so much content with this.

Sure, there are aspects of it that are negative, but they are also present in literally every other Warriors game by default. The morale bar missing, despite you still getting messages about it, is kinda weird. I also don't like how the mini-map displays troop formations... in that it randomly shows them, and yet also randomly doesn't? It's just weird.

Its also financially one of the best deals considering what you get (even though it's older, it definitely holds up) considering how overpriced most of Koei's stuff can be for no reason.

Lets get some of the cons out of the way quick:
So far, other than Shionne, we have some of the least interesting and asethetically unappealing characters in the series yet...

Having recently played Xilia, Berseria, and Zestiria, which all had at least mediocre, if not pretty good, characters/character designs... Tales of Arise is an astonishing HUGE LEAP backwards in character design. Pretty disappointed there.

Game runs really well though, and the world and enemy models/textures looks pretty amazing.

The combat system this time is... well, pretty broken. Getting SP when not doing quests feels impossible, and enemies seem to either be absolute fodder, or just one/two-hit kill you if you don't know the precise timing for dodging. The dodging itself is super frustrating, feeling delayed and wonky, while also SO MANY abilities you just randomly can't roll out of. A lot of the fun of the combat seems to be lost, at least so far.

Still, its a fine game - its just hard when having recently played some of the other more recent titles that did pretty much everything better.

Also the story is a joke... its fine, but like some of the laziest writing these series has ever seen. It's sad.

I can't believe I put off playing this game for so long...

SMT 1 and 2 on the SNES are good, absolutely, but it isn't until you play this game... that you really understand what SMT Is all about. Also, lets hope for DDS to get released next, because while I know its a very different game, I love everything about this era of the SMT games - the look, the feel, pretty much everythin.

Imagine having a SEVERE makes-the-game-unplayable bug since 2015, and never doing anything about it. Dev team literally doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥, so now I'm not going to give a ♥♥♥♥ about this game.

If you have a gaming laptop (a la ROG Strix), you simply cannot play this game. You will have no resolution options, and NOTHING you can do can make it work properly (even changing the resolution maunally in-game only temporarily fixes it, but causes crashes and you can alt-tab, and you would have to manually do this everytime).

Fix your game Devs. You can't just let your game be broken for 7 years to such a large number of people, and not give a ♥♥♥♥.

Look, if you like the Nioh games - the game works fine.

I have a 2070 mobile edition, and the game works perfect right out of the box. People complaining about 4k ♥♥♥♥ and whatever, can have their complaints if they want, but I don't think the game should be ♥♥♥♥ on purely because your get frame dips when pushing the game to theoretical maximum.

Don't review bomb this - the game is just a better version of it's PS4 counterpart, and it's now on Steam with the DLC included.

Pretty fun. Like the art, and everything looks/feels smooth.

RNG seems pretty fair. Sometimes you get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard, and sometimes you can ♥♥♥♥ up your enemies really hard in a way you weren't expecting. I have never played a rouge-like of this kind before, I beat all 52 weeks on my first go.

I played it more safe, however - so I expect choosing all Veteran and Champion level threats will make things more difficult.

I would play this again, probably. Great free game. ,

Early Access Review
I mean, it seems functional - and I enjoy playing as a Pig man with a pink outfit.

I've played older Quake rip-offs like the original Nexuiz, and recall enjoying the overall feel and pace of that game a bit more. I think this game is still very new, and feeling out it's niche/getting to a point of more polish.

The dash ability is interesting, because it leads to more unpredictable movement behavior - and, in general, the movement in this game is very satisfying; smooth and quick, as one would come to expect from a Quake clone.

The weapons are par the course, but I didn't feel like any of them were distinctly/inherently bad or anything.

It's hard to want to play this over other Quake-Style shooters, at the moment, but I can tell the team is competent in terms of constructing the core of the mechanics - so it might be worth watching.

Sent shivers up my spine.

More addicting than alochol.
