The game itself is fun. Exploration has a lot to offer in terms of finding things. Combat is fun as hell and caters to a few different playstyles. There are a lot of secrets. You can spoil yourself and find them online or find them for yourself. Enemy variety isn't the best. The sidequests are for the most part better than the main story but also kind of hard to find in some cases. The main story in general is good but the main story quests themselves, mostly suck.

As a game I recommend it. Microtransactions are aimed at a specific type of person. Have you yourself ever said, "people are dumb"? If so, then you understand the type of demographic these transactions are aimed at. Is it okay? Of course not but microtransactions unfortunately aren't going away. Get a brain, don't buy them. Play the game for what it is and base your judgement on that. Watch a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2 hour playthrough of the beginning on youtube if you aren't sold and make a decision for yourself.

I think the game would have benefited from a co-op campaign. The game is good, really good if you put in the time and have friends to play and progress with. But it could have been an amazing game if they made 1-2 smarter decisions like co-op campaign.

Regardless this game is bad ass. The boss fights are fun as hell. The challenge starts a bit late but it was worth it. Bring a friend or two for the end game if possible.

Ignore reviews under 70 hours. They haven't even hit Abyss Dungeons or Guardian Raids and are complaining the game is too easy.

I suggest trying it out even if you are only slightly interested. More fun than I expected to have especially with a couple of friends to learn with.

If I could describe the game in just a few words I'd say it's a game with a lot of charisma and style that just tries to be fun.

Ichiban really is number one. Pretty much hits all the marks for a great game if you enjoy turn-based RPG's.

PC port is flawless for me so far. No crashes, no frame drops. Overall solid.

All ultra settings, no issues for me so far. About 70 FPS on 1440p with a i7-8700k and 2070 super using some very outdated drivers. I notice some stutter when I first start up the game and it's still loading in some things but when exploring new zones and playing the game in general I don't have any issues. Sucks that so many people are.

The game is good too but that's not why I wanted to make this review.

TLDR: No brainer insta-buy for me if you enjoy this type of game. Especially on sale. Side content sucks but the main game is very fun and the environments are absolutely breathtaking. 45-50 hour main story according to HLTB scores.

Better than I expected. Honestly did not expect a lot since I've had bad experiences with Chinese games but decided to try this one since the reviews were good and the screenshots looked nice. I have not been disappointed in the least bit and was actually surprised at the quality. Especially the environments, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they look even better in game.

At 25 hours in the game is still pretty linear in terms of progression but it seems things are starting to open up a bit more. According to hltb I'm a little over half way through. The maps do have room to explore and there are a variety of sub-quests but to be honest I feel like they are just tacked on. I don't feel like anything is missed by skipping the side-content. Luckily the gameplay is fun and the world looks beautiful so I definitely do not mind the kill quests now and then. The others are boring. Fetch quests, fishing quests.. boring, but it's there.

The story reminds me of the better side of older JRPG/anime's in the way it progresses. Good characters, no whiny MC. MC has a strong power that he doesn't want to use but is forced to. That sort of thing. Story has a lot of references to Chinese legends/history which I'm not too familiar with so it's a bit refreshing compared to what I'm used to. Easy to follow for the most part other than the names. Not being familiar with the language I often get confused on who is who when it comes to the less important characters.

The visuals in this game are spot on. It's a good RPG/Fighting hybrid but what really pulls me in is the art.

These battle are starting to look and feel intense as ♥♥♥♥. At first I thought it was just good, maybe even great, but now I'm starting to feel like this is one of the most aesthetically bad-ass games I have played in a long time. They really nailed the combat effects once you get around the middle of the game.

Early Access Review
I am pretty happy I stumbled across this game randomly. It's a tactical anime style game with character building and XCOM inspired combat.

Diamond in the rough in my opinion. Could use some polish in some aspects but I can definitely tell there has been a lot of passion put into this project.

I was able to tell within two hours that I would enjoy this game so you should be able to make a good judgement and refund before the two hours if you are concerned.

Most of the game revolves around doing missions and going back to base managing your characters equips and abilities. There is a lot of variety in the way the missions have been set up so far. Story missions unlock as you go and there are repeatable missions as well to level your characters or try to find items/abilities. I haven't felt the need to grind yet but others have stated they have as the missions progress. As far as content goes it's definitely worth the $20 asking price. Still early access so I'm sure the story will halt at some point if I keep binge playing the game but so far there is a lot to offer.
