A fun new take on the settlement building genre centred around zombie survival.

While the building aspect is fun in-and-of itself, the game makes use of open-source map data to allow you to play anywhere and it's awesome to try and tough out the zombie apocalypse in your hometown or a familiar area.

In terms of game-play complexity, it's middle of the road. The systems are simple enough that you won't feel deterred from playing while tired, but there is a high enough ceiling that you can apply yourself and don't feel railroaded into a single way of doing things.

Also worth mentioning, the developers have been hyper-vigilant with bug updates and taking player feedback into consideration. They're issuing bug-fixes, balancing, and content patches near-daily and it's very promising for the future of what is already any awesome premise for a game.

Adore this game. Complex enough in it's game-play if you care for it, but lax enough to force on the most obstinate of friends. Great value.

This game is fun in most every capacity, and can be approached with as much vigour and focus as one wishes. The systems are initially daunting, but a short (10 minute) tutorial is more than adequate to get you going.

Mechanically, one of the key ways in which it differentiates itself from other colony sims is the inclusion of several difference races - each with their own traits, requirements, and interracial synergies.

Graphically, it is reminiscent of Dwarf Fortress (with a tileset) and Pharaoh.

Replayability is near-endless so long as one enjoys designing and maintaining city-states.

Content is added frequently (every few months) by a sole dedicated developer, and there is an active Workshop community.

A game that both demands and feeds an imagination.
