Portal 2 is one of those games that no matter if you like puzzle games or not, you should try. That being said, this game takes Portal 1's ideas and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ destroys them with even more clever and interesting mechanics. I always thought Portal 1 was lacking in content, and when it was starting to get good, it ended. Portal 2 has far more levels and puzzles than 1 did, and many of its new concepts destroy P1s ones. many of them are mixed to create at blend that makes every level feel unique and fun. "But what about the story?" you may ask. Well, it's great.
*SPOILERS*
The main story starts with our main protagonist who gets put in what is essentially a jail cell for years until we meet this core who maintains the humans breaks us out. His name is wheatley, and he is with us at the beginning until something later on happens. We head into a decaying test room from the first game. we get back our portal gun and eventually, wheatley tries to reactivate the facility near GlaDOS' robotic corpse when she slowly reactivates. She "destroys" wheatley before putting you into the chambers again. So that's the beginning plot in a nutshell, but are the characters and dialogue good? Good? GOOD? They are amazing! While P1 was more satirical and passive aggressive, in P2, the characters are witty, and have more dark humor. Wheatley is a dumbass who consistently does things wrong in a way that makes you sometimes chuckle. GlaDOS also has much more personality in this game than in the first. every character is memorable and has some unique charm that makes them easily quotable. Overall, Portal 2 is still one of the best puzzle games of all time and is certainly a game I would recommend to any person who is into video games. 10/10
