Beautiful game in VR, a technical marvel with as-of-yet unbeatable levels of immersion.

While I was not as much of a fan with the story direction as a long time HL fan, it is a technical showcase for how VR can be used to make a real next-gen experience. Everything about how this game uses VR is meticulously detailed and thought through and a blast to play through.

Highlights are the insane level of detail and immersion you experience from the get-go, footage of the game does it no justice as playing in VR elevates the experience to 100. The weapons are satisfying to use, and the gunplay varied, there is enough variety in enemies to warrant creative use across all of the weapons.

The lowlights for me are the story seems to falter a bit towards the end with the latter areas of the game feeling a bit rushed - additionally the game was quite easy, I feel at times it could have benefited from more challenge in terms of enemies/puzzles. I additionally did not like the resin system, though I really enjoyed the exploration encouraged by finding them (which is perhaps why it was added).

Super underrated, fantastic use of physics in VR and a wild ride of a story mode.

For newcomers to VR be cautioned: this game can make you feel nauseous at first as it uses full locomotion - your characters walks without teleport, you grab all of the things and you climb heights.
After the sickness though you are treated to an intriguing world, clearly inspired by Valve games like Half Life 2 (crowbar included) with a surprisingly detailed story and world.

Best part of this game is the satisfaction of using the vast arsenal of weapons - an incredibly immersive experience and a tonne of fun.

Low part is it isn't as aesthetically pleasing compared to some other huge VR games (ie Alyx) though its a great game nonetheless and my favourite VR experience. Story clocked in for about 8 hours for me - with more entertainment to be had in the sandbox and additional modes.
