If you like a festival vibe full of poorly designed special infected whose attacks are more frustrating than fair, this is for you.
The actual quest is kind of OK, but the mechanics implemented result in a lot of frustrating fights hanging around glowing balls. The final boss fight seems to be meant for a full co-op group and not a solo person, but I can't imagine it being much more fun with other people, either. For the price for the base game+DLC as part of the winter sale it was acceptable, but I can't imagine paying full price for something this short generally or with poorly designed new enemy types.

Two truths and a lie:

This game is amazing with excellent design.
The combat is crunchy and weighty in a good way.

You'll probably put this down easily.

It's one of the best recursives I've played in the last few years.

Grindy f2p with a janky combat system that wants to be more interesting than it actually is.
If you''ve got the reflexes of a hummingbird, you'll probably find the blocking system rewarding.

Poorly optimized trash with a GoT vibe.
It seems like SE spent most of the budget on making this a grimdark FF game and not actually optimizing it to play on a rig that has a GPU less than $1k and requiring the sort of cooling that would make a nuclear reactor blush.
Save your money, play a different jrpg.

Fun until that last boss fight.
I don't know what Mundfish does for their QA but it's pretty clear after this third DLC that they don't' seem to do much of it in terms of boss fights. This entire DLC had bosses that felt more like ways to pad out the run time than actually involve challenges of any skill.
Maybe avoid this unless you really like hearing the banter between P-3 and his glovewife.

If you like interminable sliding sections that seem only meant to pad out the runtime, then this is for you.
Apparently there are also platforming sections after this, but I cant' be arsed to finish the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sliding.

I'll just watch a Youtube video of the plot relevant bits. I'd suggest you do the same unless you really want the unique skins this DLC lets you unlock for the main game.

A bit of interesting content to help flesh out the world which frankly should have shipped with the release from the off. Yeah, it's nice that animals are roaming the world as are bandit gangs that make the overworld a bit more interesting, but this couldn't come with the main game?
The rest of the mechanics are the same - how was trade or subterfuge with factions not a consideration?
The new mechanics also ensure that there's more focus on the new parts of the tech tree. However that works against it in some instances - it can get really frustrating to save up enough for a new specialist only to see half that money gone before you get a chance to research the necessary tech to minimize the chances of those kinds of attacks. Propaganda also seems unbalanced - a single propaganda attack effectively removes any positive feelings colonists have, meaning you're working back from no happiness. Again, the tech required to minimize this takes significant investment. Maybe lower the penalty incurred during a successful attack?
Like I said, it's a good bit of content that should've shipped with 1.0. Wait for a sale and you'll be happier that way.

Remember the original DS? Want more of that?
Well, don't play this game.

Animations are laggy, slow, look like stop motion. The aiming is absolutely terrible. Seriously-how did this actually happen?
I'm not even talking aim-assist, or anything. I mean, aim at enemy-aim jumps, you miss the shot, then get eaten.

And you will get eaten. Oh yes. A lot. I suspect if you slog it through the first parts you'll have a better time of it, but I just don't see myself sticking through a thousand checkpoints to make it out. For that I'd play Dark Souls and actually feel rewarded after banging my head against a wall.

Respawn and drop rates have increased and decreased respectively. Remember DS when every enemy (or close to it) dropped something? Not so.
You'll definitely have to scrounge and look and hope that you'll find that last bit. And don't have any healing things? I hope you can run. A lot.
I was hunting a deer, made sure the coast was clear. I look to my right, an entire group of zombies that had not previously existed, spawned without warning. Death.
I'll go play the original-that was a fun game. Not recommended.

Your music is under attack! Go save it!!!!
Seriously though, this game is great fun. A top-down arcade shooter, it employs a mouse to move your ship and the left mouse button to shoot.
It's a wonderful idea that's well implemented, and different from other music base games. Yes, I'm referring to Beat Hazard.
While Beat Hazard is certainly fun, the tiered unlock system leaves something to be desired. In Symphony, all items, whether they're ship weapons or power ups picked up in the game are generated per song. So each song is its own item, which can be unlocked or not, and upgraded or not. Oh, the choices.
Other than that it's pretty straightforward. Lots of flashy neon graphics and the use of your own music means the replay value is high. Just don't try any EDM if you're not ready for that kind of insanity.
