I've played a lot of Turn-based strategies and some that are even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at points with it's RNG (looking at you Darkest Dungeon) but if you want a game that makes you feel like your the Band of the Hawk from Berserk, I'd highly recommend this game. Every fight can feel like it is your last with the slightest turn of the rng or your best when that one hit causes the entire enemy group to break. Every brother you lose is another lesson you learn about the brutality of this game and what not to do: Think you can take on a small pack of direwolves with only 6 dudes wearing sleeping caps on their heads and a couple of pointy sticks? Prepare to lose a brother. Taking your first caravan job from the north to the southern city states? Prepare to fight monsters that WILL wipe your team if you don't know what your doing.

Fantastic gameplay, Fantastic music, and a Fantastic art style. 10/10

When I'm able to get the game to run (after restarting it twice so i can keep a consistent framerate) it plays fine; anytime however i try to pause the game (or use Dead Eye/Eagle Eye), the game will crash and I have to do a hard reboot. Happens both on Story and Online. I also shouldn't have to run a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ benchmark test everytime i want to play this game to insure it doesn't crash during the loading screen for Online/Story.

Until these issues are fixed I will not change my review.

EDIT: Got the game to work, I highly recommend playing around with the Render Resolution since that's what seemed to fix most of my issues. Overall the story is fantastic and the atmosphere is amazing. Gunplay is great (especially once you get that pump action and all you want to do is go into bullet time and get point blank distance to blow limbs off!). Multiplayer on the other hand is pretty tedious and redundant; Once you finish getting Hunter, Bounty Hunter, Collector, and the new Moonshiner role to lvl 20 you have pretty much nothing else to do. PVP was pretty much barren as most matches i got into only had like 1 or 2 people in them at most.

Overall i recommend getting this game for it's single player as the multiplayer very much seems just tacked on. Hopefully in the future it gets a GTA Online treatment when it comes to new content.

Had hope for this game to be something unique, followed the development since alpha and even subscribed to the newsletter to know when the open beta was happening. Now it's main focus is to be another cookie-cutter mundane flavor of the year BR game. Absolutely disappointing.

Played since open beta; I'd recommend buying a hazmat suit to shield yourself from all the toxicity and cancer that lurks within this game if you decide to get it.

If you can stomach that and have the patience for long wait periods for a character to get reworked or a bug to be fixed (only for a new one to appear), then i recommend this game.

Sorry kids that the game is following back to it's roots, but not everything can be a Fallout 3-4 clone.

The game is great for what it is and meant to be: a roleplaying crpg post-apocalyptic adventure. Going back to when you had to READ text to understand a story or plot, Wasteland 2 allows you to become immersed in your story with even allowing you to create your own backstories for your characters and customize them. The game has tons and tons of backstory that you can read through if your aren't as lazy as many of these negative steam reviews are. Of course this might not be the type of thing people aren't into but there's no reason to give a negative a review just because you thought the 'gameplay is retro - dislike' like really? What did you expect a game to be when it's trying to mimic the same techniques from a game made in 1988?? This game brings back it's cRPG roots from a 26 year long hiatus, and if you don't like it: it's alright, but don't go placing a dislike due to it being a 'waste of HD space' because it obvious that you can't come up with any constructive criticism that follows up with your argument of it being a 'waste of time'.

I'd give it a 9/10 - for what it's trying to be, it does it flawlessly. However, it does suffer from the occasional crashes and camera problems.

Do i love this game? Yes.
Thus im gonna be a bit biased, anyways, I know the original developers of the game abandoned the thing a while back and now we have a new developer that has promised updates for the game. No the game isn't dead, there are still pockets of people that play in servers from different regions, so there is still a playerbase for the game, a SMALL one but still there is one. As for the playerbase everyone i've met so far has been friendly, but yes you might encounter a troll every now and then. As for the gameplay: Every mech has a different playstyle and thus is one of the many reasons why i love this game, the versatility gives a player something new to try out every time, and im saying this after recently purchasing my third C-class so far. You can use real money to unlock things early but most of the premium stuff is only cosmetics. In the end, if you still haven't tried out Hawken i'd recommend you give it a try, like i said before, the new developers have plans for this game and hopefully it'll escape the endless abyss known as early access.

If i have anything negative to say about the game, is that unfortunately with not that many players, new players are sometimes stuck matchmaking with veterans and are completely obliterated.

Been playing on and off this game ever since it came out as an early access, and by far i've had a blast playing the game. The whole lovecraftian theme was new to me and seeing it for the first time was awesome, including the voice of narrator which gave every battle you had more life to it. Overall yes, it is a difficult game based on RNG and sometimes can screw you over, but that's part of the game. There's a reason why the game has a huge roster in order for you to keep many parties, it's obvious that your gonna lose guys every now and then. The games is really challengeing and i recommend it to people that've played RNG games like XCOM, anyone that's ever played a roleplaying game and understand about the luck of the dice roll, and people who love dungeon crawlers.

5 seconds into the first mission of Campaign: i lose a green team member
1 hour in: i've beaten the mission with 1 member left in red team, also took me 3 attempts.
All while still attempting to learn the controls. (New to the whole FPS Tactical)
Still incredibly nerve-racking and challenging

10/10 would shoot and kill my own comrade by mistake again.
