This, for me, is the perfect open world survival crafty game. The challenge curve is exactly right, none of the asinine roguelite/-like BS that is FAR TOO PREVALENT on Steam. And, the tech tree progression is nearly perfect. And, what makes this game standout the most is the time-based transformations that happen. No spoilers here, play to find out. The late-game features and tech is great too, but again, don't want to spoil the discoveries. Buy it and enjoy the journey.

Fix the flipping "falling in place" glitch. It has been a problem for years, get off your arse and fix it. Do this, publicize it, then I'll change my review. Laziness and greed need to end here on Steam.

I am so sick and effing tired of games breaking on Steam. This keeps happening over and over again, mostly due to corrupted game files. Jesus Christ, people, why can't you get game files to work properly? No backups, once broken game doesn't effing load. ERROR TRAPPING 101 PEOPLE! I code too, you need to have error handling in your code to ensure a corrupted file DOESN'T DISABLE A GAME FROM RUNNING! Fix your crap, and I'll THINK about deleting this review. THIS IS FAR TOO COMMON AN ISSUE WITH STEAM LATELY!

I began playing this game shortly after it came out with a buddy of mine when I was in high school. We played on dial-up until well into the wee hours when we should've been in bed on school nights. Glad to be playing it again. Easily, one of the best 4x turn-based strategy space exploration games ever made. In fact, I have yet to find one as fun.

I am incredibly disappointed. I just built a solid new PC this last week, and this game keeps crashing on me. There is no excuse whatsoever for me not to be able to play this game with the graphics settings topped out without crashing this many years after release. BioWare, stop imitating Bethesda, fix your bugs!

Great game, and this is a decent port save for the fact that I STILL CAN'T SKIP CUTSCENES. Why the hell can't you guys simply add a few lines of code to allow cut scene skips? That having been said, get your cloud saving feature in gear, this is an incredibly low-bandwidth feature that should not be dying so damned much. But, again, great game.

This game is a classic. Too bad this remastered version is chock full of worthless glitches that ruin the whole experience.

Every game has it's pros and cons, but this one almost has as many frustrating bugs and silly BS crap in it as it has absolutely brilliant gameplay tweaks and very satisfyingly challenging battles. This game is tough, but fair, mostly. The camera in the game is crap, and really needs to be patched. But, it's a hurdle one can work with in the game. The pathing is too specific, all the fighting and loot is too locked in. But, the quests are a lot of fun, and the humor is quite good. This game has all the hallmarks of a potentially amazing game. It just lacks the proper beta testing and bug fixing it really needs. I'd recommend this game, but only when it's on sale.

People are being extra vicious in the review of this game due to their hatred of Ubi's DRM interface U Play. And, to play devil's advocate, U Play is dumb. Ubi has made no effort to show their love for PC players. That aside, though, this game is immense and engaging. SimCity on acid -- Gorgeous, immersive, fun, challenging, everything you'd want in a city sim title. The game is utterly fantastic, the DRM is a pain. If you can tolerate the latter, buy the former.
