Honestly one of the best Turn Based Tactics games and one of the best indie games I've played.
Pretty challenging experience where you lead a mercenary company in a large open world sandbox, losing and gaining new members. The combat system seems simple at first glance, you have HP, stats, action points and armor, attacks are based on weapon types, but the interaction and all the effects you get from perks and some other sources make it extremely deep with build types you can make where it can get pretty overwhelming calculating stat spreads & traits to forge the perfect battle bro. Which is amazing since it isn't a massive tree of skills and equipment like in something ala POE or a CRPG like Pathfinder, but an example of how a well designed few meaningful skills, stats and well designed itemization with a few impactful equipment types can give the player a lot of tools to work with and tackle the various challenges the game throws at you. There's a ton of guides and resources available online though. The enemy AI is pretty well designed, all different factions have their own fighting styles, skills and tactics and react to yours (Brigands and Noble armies try to push in formation, nobles more so, stay put if they have ranged advantage and somewhat flank, goblins use hit and run skirmish tactics, undead horde just charge you while keeping a few bodies behind with the necromancer if one is present etc.) and there are monsters and optional bosses as well your company can try to fight late game after doing some of the crises and getting geared. Though the setting is somewhat low fantasy, not much magic use present and apart from undead and orcs the monsters are rare so it will mostly be infantry formation vs infantry formation combat.
Game does a good job making you get attached to your battle bros and it feels bad when a high level well geared and stated one falls in the fields of battle.
There is a lot of content and a lot of flexibility regarding ways to play and builds to use. The DLCs are also all pretty high quality, but are not essential for a good experience.
Amazing art style, well written events & lore text and 10/10 music as well.

Honestly one of my favorite games set in the 40K universe so far. To get the main topic out of the way when it comes to Owlcat releases: Like the standard Owlcat game it had a bug filled launch, but most of that is fixed now. Not completely bug free, but in a good state, which was the main complaint of people on launch.

Pros:
The game nails the 40K atmosphere and the characters are well written, easily the highest quality Owlcat release in terms of writing (aside from some alignment stuff) so far. Had my issues with cringe companions in WOTR, but here everyone was solid. And the game stays true to the lore of 40K, with only a story power level issue regarding last boss being a flaw imo.
The OST is also superb, up there with Mechanicus and Battlefleet Gothic 2.
Less build autism than pathfinder, but complex enough to give you various options with mixing the classes (archetypes) and origin abilities/talents, despite there not being a lot of archetypes (though more are getting added in the relatively cheap expansions - game + season pass are often on 40% sale).
Main gameplay is pretty good, classic turn based with cover and action points along with a fillable bar for using each archetype's ultimate skills. Pretty good variety of weapons as well, both Aeldari and Imperial.
I personally liked voidship combat, simple yet effective gimmick. Much better than the kingdom management or crusade mini games Owlcat made in their previous 2 titles.
Pretty good replay value, easily 100+ hours of content for a playthrough (without DLC expansions which add 15ish hours).

Neutral:
Most of text isn't voice acted, just the important story parts + all bridge companion dialogue. I don't mind this, I personally like reading + using my imagination. Voice acting is nice to have, though it is not essential, but this might be a turn off for some.
Easy to get OP past the mid game depending on what you build and trivialize a lot of encounters, unless you are playing on hardest difficulties (even then full Navi Cassia is a one woman CC machine). Some of the OP skills have been toned down, but there are still balance issues. Bad if you are looking for a fair challenge without gimping yourself good if you like stomping.

Cons:
Colony management, despite having interactive story segments feels static in terms of what you build not having much impact in terms of story, the dialogue events and the decisions there are what matters and they are the same options no matter what project was built as far as I've seen.
The alignment system and assorted dialogue are flawed. Heretic path especially, most of the Heretic dialogue is pretty much being an openly evil psycho from the get go and consequences for doing heretical acts come way too late in the game, despite having an inquisition agent as a part of the retinue (who seethes at your character's actions but tolerates you begrudgingly). It's hard to RP as a character slowly falling to corruption or a subtle chaotic manipulator, most of it is just Chaos villain from the get go. Overall the system doesn't really allow for a character with big perspective shifts (unless it happens before mid game) since getting to rank 3 in an alignment locks you in it and limits the other 2 to max lvl 2 - this limits story RP heavily. Also iconoclast/benevolentia is often just characterized as bleeding heart naive do-gooder and dogmatic can be needlessly lawful stupid, despite having characters fitting those alignments in the game that act much more nuanced (Cult of St Drusus, Argenta, Abelard etc.) . In my opinion the old alignment system from Pathfinder would have worked with some tweaks adding a few shiftable values like Pure - Chaos, Dogma - Heresy, Cruel - Benevolent etc.
The last 2 acts feel rushed in terms of story compared to first 2, which were amazing. It feels like there should have been an extra act to flesh out expanse politics with other Rogue Trader, who you meet midgame. They get set up as important figures, but the next time you meet them you are more or less deciding their fate. They are getting more content, but still the issue has not been completely sorted.
Also getting into space Detroit felt a bit railroaded.

It does have flaws, but overall the good heavily out-weighs the bad , a solid game to play especially if you are a fan of 40K. The game still has years of updates & content ahead and the devs are working on the issues, they listen to the community complaints and adjust. So far the changes and the first expansion were good, time will tell how the definitive version will look like. Hope Owlcat does more Warhammer games as this was a solid execution.

I enjoy the game a lot, but the level of greed in the DLC pricing - charging so much for so little content and at the same time neutering the free content is just inexcusable.
