I have sunk so much time into this game (from when it came out)....it was all worth it.

I can only recommend this game!
I wish they'd remake the first one though...

This ist really the best total conversion game out there. The devs made a great job with re-envisioning half-life. Since we aren't getting any more single player games from Valve, this is the next best thing one can buy for money.

This is, hands down, the Best c-Movie I have ever watched! It revives all the clishees of the 80's Movie period and is just plain awesome!

The last edition of my review stated, that I didn't get all the DLC with the Season Pass. That's not totally correct.

The only DLC missing are the time savers, which in my opinion should also be included in a season pass (which in the gaming world means the equivalent of buying ALL (future) DLC for the game). But this is something I could live with.

The reason I was led to believe, that Ubisoft had screwed me over with the SP, was that the Steam store did not show me, that I owned the other DLC. It even tried to bill me again for those included in the SP (usually Steam store would give you the information that you already own a specific piece of software).

So please people, if you have bought the SP, don't put any other of the DLC in your cart (save for time savers, if you need them). Check with Uplay client or the DLC content tab in your library (right click on game) what kind of DLC you own for the game. Don't buy things twice.

Until Ubisoft creates a package for the SP in the Steam DB containing the DLC, so that owners of the SP can actually see, what DLC they bought and are not billed twice accidentally, my negative rating stands.

Why?! Just Why???

Apart from the story setting and the engine this has nothing to do with DE:HR

Negative:
- There are no customizable control sets.
- Combat physics are basically non existent and the AI is plain dumb.
- Command input responsiveness is a game of luck in context situations, in the hacking mechanics as well as in the menu
- Only about 40% of cutscene dialogs are recorded or play at all
- Texture glitches in cutscenes and ingame
- Jumping is only context-sensitive
- close to no character facial animation
- you can basically buy any item from the invenotry which has no space limit
- Augmentation menu is cut down to a few augs/augtrees
- oh and only about 2 hours of gameplay, ending in a cliff hanger that smacks the 10€ you paid at your face, telling you to come back to throw more money at this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Positive::
+ I know now I don't have to buy anything more from this developer
+ The torture was over in only 2 hours (my 8hours gaming time mostly come from idling)
+ It did not price you at AAA-Level
+ if you took the limited offer you get one of the best games in gaming history "Deus Ex GOTY" with your purchase. If you have that already, avoid this piece of feces.

This game is an utter disappointment.

I can't even say anything for most contents - I didn't get that far. I would have liked writing a review if the game could live up to my thief franchise expectations.

BUT

It doesn't stop stuttering (avg about 10fps, at times dropping to 0.5fps slide shows) when playing, not even in the lowest resolution and with all settings on minimum. I have a rather decent rig, that runs Deus Ex Revolution in highest resolution. But not this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!

How did it come so far, that companies can throw unfinished merchandise onto the market, probably without playtesting it on any other rigs than their high-end, new-tech, sponsored company PCs? Not only that this game doesn't run for many users, they release it with another 5€ release -DLC piece so that even buyers of the Master Thief addition have to pay more for the whole experience (of you could get it anyway).

How can a studio release such a brilliant game with DE:HR and fail so utterly on their next heist?
I feel misused as a paying Beta-Tester yet again!!

Edit:
I tried the User-Tweaks from the support-forums (note well: users had to find this out) - Renaming the Win64 Folder of the Binaries into something else, copying the Win32 folder and renaming that to Win64. It helped to an extent. Partially the game was playable for 10-15s until severe stuttering ensured.

The downside is, that loading crashes the game then. So you are then mandatorially playing in hardest mode ever, no loading, no failing.
