I brought this pack thinking that the monster art would be at a decent resolution, but I found out they are not. The sizes are not listed on the description, but here they are:

Fire Monster - 180 x 238 px
Evil Sword Monster - 104 x 248 px
Evil Chest Monster - 136 x 166 px
Fairy Monster - 212 x 244 px

Upon finding out that the resolution was too low, I contacted the publisher and I was recommended to use Inkscape to upscale the images without losing detail or quality. However, this only works on vector images. These are raster images and would need to be converted to vector. I have tried converting but I couldn't get good results since the images are so dang small. I also used Abode Illustrator's Image Trace, but to no avail.

I then contacted the developer on Twitter and they said that higher resolutions are not available on the Steam Store. I was then directed to third party site (BOOTH) where the higher resolutions are available. However, the monster packs were split differently and came at a premium price for an "Extended Licence". The extended licence has the monsters at 1000 x 1000 px. So for me to get all the monsters in this pack at high resolution on BOOTH, I would have to purchase 2 additional packs and it would come out to 11 times the price (nearly $88) than I paid here ($7.99). What a mess.

Other monster packs on the Steam Store provides much higher resolution for you to edit. I don't see why this developer can't do the same. With low dimensions like these, good luck trying to do anything other than using these for battle. These are asset packs and the freedom to edit is severely hindered by the small sizes, which is very unfortunate.

On the plus side, these monsters do come with in-game sprites, which many other monster art packs are lacking. The style of these sprites do come close to the default RPG Maker MV style, which may be plus or minus depending on the style of your own game.

I have suggested to the developer that they list the sizes of the monster art so that the customers will know what they're getting. However, that hasn't been done yet, which is disappointing. I love the art, but I cannot recommend this pack if you need high resolution. If you don't care about that, then I definitely suggest getting this pack, especially when it's on sale. It's going to give you a lot more options and make your game stand out.
