05/05/24 - The community shows that it can achieve results. Sony has surprisingly stepped back.
Again, though Arrowhead isn't without fault in the whole wild ride, the game deserves the fanfare; so I'll give this game it's positive again. Helldivers 2 is a fun game, great with friends.

05/03/24 - Crappy publisher behavior kills an otherwise fun game.
Leaving many international players in the dark and opening up the playerbase to yet another crappy side-platform so we can be tracked more easily.
Sony just loves burning any good will it gains with customers.

You pilot a ragtag Mecha squad equipped with Precognition, fights are like a puzzle where you manipulate 5-second spans of the future into violent mecha combat.
A proper Mech tactics game, sits well next to Front Mission and SRW as it's own unique thing.
+Has all the proper trappings of mech building.
+Good Assortment of Mecha weaponry
+Action is destructive and great to look at
+DAT BEAM CANNON THO.
+gameplay loop is fun and can throw you for a loop
+sounds like there will be full mod support?

-No full battle replay (YET?)
-Missile tracking is nonexistent
-Pilot customization seems to be a bit basic

*Would love for some unique parts (Tank legs, dedicated gun arms)
*Would love for shoulder/back mount slot for things like limited use Missile pods/mortars/jammers/repair kits/etc.

Gundam Fightan. Breddy gud.
All in all, pretty simple hack n slash, can get fancy once you grasp the timings of perfect blocks/counters/etc.
The suit list seems to be pretty damn legit, lots of series are represented.
Progression seems to just be a credit/parts grind?

If you're a fan of Gundam, it's worth playing.
Not a fan of Gundam? Get it if you like beating up cute robutts.

When it runs, its fun.
Good gunplay.
Abilities and customization is above the rest.
Story is cheeky breeky and lacks a lot of BS.

Absolutely gorgeous, like action Super Robot Wars. Treat for mecha fans.
BUT.
It didn't launch with the coop/survival modes that the devs originally pitched, which is kinda sad since the multiplayer Mech designs are rad, but are locking into the vs mode only. (which is VERY bare bones atm)

Still, the campaign hit all the right mecha tropes just right, worth it for that.

Early Access Review
Surprisingly fun mix of roguelike + jrpg's.
Randomized world can slap you in the face, but it does keep things fresh over multiple playthroughs.
The aesthetic is super-charming, though more character customization/more characters would be delightful.
People can be misled by the hex-grid overworld map, thinking this is a tactics game, it's not. (Combat is a very traditional turn based JRPG style dictated by initiative and rng rolls)

You trot around the map grid as seperate characters, proximity being the factor of whether or not your party fights together, and each hex offers up chances of random encounters, some of which can absolutely end your game in an instant.
Dungeons feel very old-school rpg, going room to room in a behind-the-party camera type crawl. It's a cute presentation, and can be surprisingly staggering if your party doesn't have the endurance to complete them.

RNG is strong in this game.
Upgrade your armor ASAP.
Accrue Lore and unlock new stuff.
You'll wipe eventually, that's just how the game is designed.

Monster Hunter Genre game. Silly outfits. Big weapons. Except those weapons transform into cannons, shields, swords, spears, on the fly.

One of the main draws to the game is a super extensive ranged weapon bullet crafting system. You take a bullet and then go wild, changing vectors, timing effect changes, adding decorative effect that then turn into mega-nuclear orbital beams, etc. The system is highly robust, allowing players to be stylish, effective, or both.

The Blood Art system is the main difference from the 1st game, Resurrection. Instead of 1198273 ways to chomp a monster, you can level up your moves from any of your available weapons and super-power one of thier movesets with flashy as hell abilities. As you go, your Arts get VERY anime. BUT, the Melee game feels a touch more in-depth.

+Anime
+Emphasis on "storyline"
+Hours of bullet crafting. (literally gun wizards in here)
+Resurrection Predator System replaced with a much more in-depth Blood Art system
+Customization

-Anime (might be too much for some, the series lays it on very very thick)
-No Dual Audio (weebs gotta have moonspeak)
-Grinding filler missions/Repeats for crafting parts.
-Hunting zones are a bit smaller compared to MH's multi room zones
-Feels a bit more "forgiving" than MH at times.

Alien Swarm + Starship Truppen + 40k Weapons + Filthy Xenos.
Best little gem that not many have heard about.
Also Super Earth.

Worth it.
