At a Glance

Pros:

F2P done right
Tense and engaging gameplay
Balanced asymmetrical multiplayer gameplay
Lots of classes and items
Well designed maps

Cons:

Crashing
Some bugs
Few game modes

In Depth

This game is phenomanal especially considering it is free. This game approaches the free tp play model correctly, in that there are no pay to win elements. Instead they make their money solely off cosmetic items and unlocking items quicker by buying them with the real money. You can even unlock cosmetic items for free if you play enough so they go above and beyond what is expected from a free to play game.

The gameplay is very tense although not entirely fast paced. The Humans fight with ranged weapons and should try to keep their distance from the Vampires. Humans must also stick together because most Humans will die in a 1 vs 1 with a Vampire (the exception being a Prophet). The Vampires generally fight in melee and thus rely on organized attacks so running in by yourself is not advised. However, they are very mobile and have many way to split the Humans up. When you first start playing it may seem like Vampires are vastly superior to Humans but that is not the case, the two factions are well balanced. The maps are well made and interesting.

Unfortunetly, this game suffers from a lack of gamemodes and bugs. There is only really one gamemode, team deathmatch because no one plays the only other gamemode, Flashpoint. I know this isn't really a fault of the game but I think the developers should add some insentive to play Flashpoint, like extra experience. Apparently, they are adding another gamemode called "Capture the Body" so it's only going uphill from here. The other issue with this game is bugs although it is fairly minimal. I have had several issues when lobbying with friends where we won't be able to find a game. Another common issue for many people is crashing but I find they usually occur right after a update.

It is beyond me how anyone couldn't reccomend this considering it is free. It is a excellent game in its own right and it being free makes it that much better. Trying this game will cost you nothing so just download it and give it a try, I think you'll really like it.

This RPG will not dissapoint. The post apocalyptic setting feels very authentic and you are quickly immersed. The world makes you want to go off the beaten path looking for something interesting, you will constantly be sidetracked by some random thing that you discover. The choice of soundtrack gives this game lots of character, using older music despite it being post apocalyptic well into the future. There are a wide range of different and unique characters that will interest you with their strange personalities. In short, Fallout New Vegas effectively draws you into the Fallout universe.

As you play through the game your character constantly evolves. Leveling up is a very rewarding experience as you get meaningful perks that you are genuinely excited to get. Furthermore, how your character interacts with the various "factions" and characters in the game changes constantly. Combat is enjoyable, the VATS system makes for some entertaining kills and the addition of aim down the sights is much appreciated. If you are squeemish about blood and gore this game might not be for you ... because heads are going to explode. The game also features 4 excellent DLCs that are well worth the money. My one major complait for this game is its UI. It is very time consuming looking for a certain item as you scroll down through endless amounts of junk that you have collected. It is poorly designed and could certainly be improved upon.

Overall, I think this game is a very good open world RPG. It has a good although not amazing main story line and plenty of excellent side quests to keep you entertained for hours and hours. The gameplay is just as good and will not dissapoint as you blow of the heads of countless ghouls.

Pros:

A host of new features
Lots of factions and units
Family tree
Politics system implemented well
Smooth release, few problems
Excellent graphics with a dark and gritty feel
Buildings are more interesting and meaningful
Great battle UI

Cons:

Some people are experiencing crashing
Some noticable AI bugs
Campaign UI

In Depth

The campaign is very well done in this installment of Total War. My favourite new feature is "Raze Settlement", it destorys the entire territory literally burning it to the ground leaving it desolate. Not only does it look awesome visually, it also greatly affects the games mechanics adding another level of strategy. Another big new feature is "Migration" for the Barbarian tribes, it allows you to pack up your bags, destroy your settelments and relocate to a new homeland. These features are both fun to use and really helpful or frustrating if used against you. The game is also noticably harder than Rome II which is a welcomed change. From what I have seen the campaign is a huge win for Creative Assembly.

The battles are very good. Units tire very quickly making pulling out troops to replace them with rested units a more viable tactic. Cavalry seems much stronger but just as prone to dying which isn't positive nor negative just changes the play style. Furthermore, units seem more likely to rout than completely shatter with no chance of returning to the battle. Generals seem to die very easily and more randomly which frustrating because your general can get sniped early on and then your troops all lose morale. The UI for battles is greatly improved over previous games giving you all the info you need without being distracting. All round great battle gameplay.

From what I have seen this game is excellent. It had a smooth release and has improved upon many things from previous games. All the while, featuring new mechanics that add new levels of strategy to the game. The game is also visually stunning.

Pros:

Excellent story
Great Characters
Beautiful timeless graphics
Lots of different guns/vigors
Soundtrack
Sky-Lines

Cons:

Repetitive gameplay
Recycled boss battle

In Depth

The story is constantly engaging especially at the beginning and end of the game. The characters are realistic and you will develop emotional feelings for them whether positive or negative. Furthermore, the atmosphere is immersing and unique and the graphics really capture the game's world. The soundtrack only adds to the games narrative causing you to feel different emotions at just the right times.

So what about the gameplay? The gameplay isn't this games strong suit. It is fun but gets repetitive simple as that really, by mid-late game you will probably be getting bored with the combat. This is partly because the story is so amazing that you don't want to be bogged down by combat and you constantly are. One of the boss battles in this game is recycled multiple times which is dissapointing and annoying. That said, the rarer enemies are lots of fun to fight and some have a lore of their own: namely the Handyman. Furthermore, there are tons of different guns and vigors and while some are definetly better than others they are all fun to use. The sky-lines are a awesome addition and add a new layer to the combat. The gameplay is good nothing outstanding but not bad either.

This is one of the best games I have ever played and I reccomend it to everyone. Don't let what I said about the gameplay deter you the story more than makes up for the gameplay's shortcomings. Few games have touched me the way this game has and since playing it I have read all the lore. If you get it I would suggest searching for the Voxophones and taking your time it really adds to the game. Just buy it.

Pros:

Great multiplayer battles
Vast variety of factions
All round fun battle gameplay
Mod support
Enjoyable campaign
Good graphics on the units particularly
Good diplomacy system just needs to refined

Cons:

Shallow campaign
Relatively easy campaign
Took a long time to get to its current state
DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC DLC
Modding isn't very open (too much hardcoding)
Soundtrack leaves something to be desired
Terrible cutscenes

In Depth

Overall I would call this a decent game. It isn't terrible anymore but it isn't amazing either; it has some fundemental flaws. Most of those fundemental flaws relate to the campaign.

The lack of a family tree makes generals very boring and dispensable because if one dies another one will replace it right away. You can't move units unless they have a general in it so if you want to reinforce an area you have to get a general to lead the reinforcments .... this is problamatic because you can only have a set amount of generals. Furthermore, you can't garrison a settelment unless you have a general to lead it. Despite it being a excellent system it is far too easy to abuse diplomacy; as I said it just needs to be refined. The buildings are very generic you will find yourself just making the same buildings and ignoring the rest. The list of poor campaign design choises goes on and on. In general the campaign feels very streamlined giving you far too few meaningful choices. Despite this, the campaign is fairly fun but as i said shallow and ultimately repetitive. You will have a good time playing the campaign but it could be so much better.

The battles in contrast are amazing in my opinion. Tons of fun and different factions/units. It has just the right pace, not too slow, not too fast, allowing for tactical gameplay but not overly long. The different unit types all have their own use and there aren't many useless units. However, there are still issues with blobbing and the warscape engine isn't good for melee battles.

As a result, I would particularly reccomend this game to people that are interested in playing multiplayer battles. I would still reccomend it for the campaign unless you're expecting lots of depth. If you do get it I would absolutely reccomend trying some mods for the campaign if/once you get bored of vanilla. They can help to add some more depth and difficulty.
