Early Access Review
Do not recommend this game, not worth buying. The game is generic, buggy and boring. Building mechanics are similar to the Forest and the rest of the game feels like it is missing something. The concept of being shrunk in a backyard garden is interesting but not enough to carry the game. Would save your time and money.

TL;DR Buggy, short story but is easily one of the best story driven singleplayer games out there.

When I first saw this game on steam, I thought it was just another ♥♥♥♥♥♥ port of the PS2 game. Thats generally how it goes with old games but was not the case with GUN. The graphics are definatly dated and somewhat I hoped for remaster as this game is one of my favorite single player games. Personally, this review may be bias just coz of the nostigalia but I do genuinlly beleive that this game is a masterpeice of its time. Despite the short story.

HEADS UP:
~ Mouse sensitivity is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up so turn that ♥♥♥♥ way down as soon as you begin playing.

Anyways, this is an amazing game despite the fact that it has aged well. The open-world is rather small in comparision to games like Grand Theft Auto or Skyrim but none-the-less the developers have created each area of the map to feel different from the next. At times, it can feel barren with the lack of establishments throughout, only having two main towns on opposite ends of the map. I give credit for what it developed with what technology was available. Among this map, there are minigames you can undertake to earn cash, tools or stats. Some of these minigames include bounty hunting, sheriff deputy, farmhand and more.

Main elements of the game:

Story
The story is absolutly marvellous. Its such a damm shame that its so short but I am also glad that it isnt over-saturated. Each mission is unique from the next and somehow the developers engaged me throughout, I had to do it in one sitting. Character development is used throughout and is always an indicator for a good story. Aside from the previously mentioned mini-games, there isn't a whole too much to do in the world of GUN after the completion of the story.

Gunplay
First off, the hit-reg box is HUGE. At times, it feels like it is not challenging as some corners of barrels, walls and wagons do not register and shooting through it makes some gun fights a bore. Headshots are off-centre but honestly, it doesnt affect the play all too much. Do take into consideration that this game is old so some elements will be missing. On this note, The quickdraw feels smooth by being able to quickly flick between enemys and feels like it should do what its meant to do.

Voice acting, character models.
The voiceacting used is very good and all the characters sound exactly as they should. While I have to admit, some voicelines are considered racist today, it definatly adds to the vibe of a typical western world. The developers were not afraid to explore the norms of the west and particular audiences can be offended today which is rather unfortunate. But alas, their touch was not lost and drove the story perfectly.
The character (and animal) models look really nice for 2002. The models in particular are smooth and dont look mangled however, there is a lack of facial expressions used. There is little variation in character design, you will see multipules of the same enemy at once. I for one can overlook this, remembering GUN is dated. Characters use very particular stereotypes throughout for the audience to easily depict their persona.

Bugs
There are many bugs throughout and I dont blame them. The most noteable bug for me is the characters not registering actions. At times you will see a wolf float across the plains instead of run or a human float in the shape of a T. More common bugs can be found among the controls, resulting in exploits of animation canceling, etc. This game will never be perfect and these are only of a few bugs among the game.

I could talk about this game for hours tbh. Overall, solid 9/10 for story. I probably wouldn't buy GUN full priced, due to the age but is well worth for the story. Grab it while its $5

After the amount of hours I have put into this game, I can safely say that i recommend.

This vidya is for people who thoroughly enjoy social deduction text based games. Basically a deception board game. Not the right game for you if you're looking for a fast paced action game.

It WILL take time to get into, for me it took numerous hours to understand the game fully. I learnt the no no's and yes' pretty quickly through trial and error. For me, I learnt mostly through streamers playing the game. (Steam guides aren't bad either, but eh.)

There are so many plays to be made and is always being updated by the friendly devs. Unlike ToS, Throne of Lies has a paywall. It is a healthy idea to stop influxes of throwers from occurring unlike ToS free browser.

If you have ever liked playing ToS (Town of Salem) or Werewolf&Mafia, you will LOVE this game. I have both invested many hours into ToS and ToL and for me ToL is the far better game, hands down. I’ll utilise a comparison on why I believe ToL is a superior game:

ToL
- A very structured and detailed game. This game utilises in-depth classes with up to 4 abilities per character, each unique skill set allows for many different plays to be made, different win styles is a thing :))
- Death Notes. Oml, this is the best thing. Are you evil and got nothing to do? Draw your own death note and occupy yourself while the Brain Dead Blue Dragon attempt to deduce who the evils are.
- Soundtrack. Relaxing, although I usually listen to my own music while i play.
- Community. Now I must admit, not the greatest community. I did not receive much help when I first began playing and was so lost on how to play. It took me a solid 2 hours to get the jist of the game. People are flaming people in the dead chat all the time so I suggest stay out of it tbh. However that being said, I have met many friendly people on this game and jus hav a gud lauph. :)
- GAME DEVS! These devs make me SO proud, they are always updating the game, i mean ALWAYS. There is an active discord in which the devs are highly active on, replying to players with game bugs, technical issues or game suggestions to implement. Yes, this game is a little buggy but that being said, it is fairly new. Of course there is going to be bugs to iron out, just give it a shot.
- Artwork. Amazing :) even the goofy ass character models.
- Game mechanics are excellent. Nothing rustles my jimmies more than something petty. Literally, all the game mechanics are layed out beautifully and user friendly.

ToS
- A very simple and basic game. Each role has only 1 ability and is easy to follow via the simple game mechanics. It is easy to catch on how to play however can seem dull at times as no 'plays' can be made.
- Free to play. While this seems beneficial, it is well and truly the opposite. Constant throwing is demonstrated in a vast majority of my games and many cases of double screening is displayed.
- Community = Toxic. What more can I say. BUT with that being said, when I first began playing ToS players were very friendly, helping me out throughout many games. And I still see this occuring in games! :))
- Constantly players online. Quick queues.
- (as petty as this is) ANNOYING MECHANICS! Such as if you are writing in your will and you die at night. The will, will not save unless you tab out of it and if you die, you cannot save your will. I feel like i never have enough time to write everything down. ANOTHER annoying mechanic is the not stopping you from writing a message and saves your message in the typing box. If you hit send too early, it will remove the message you have written, no matter how long and will need to type it out again. Rustling My Jimmies >:(
- META. Call someone out as evil, lol exe for meme, ez mafia win. (Mafia are sooooo broken rn. ever since the implementation of 4 mafia per game. another great example of devs being a jew.)
- Game devs. 100% unsupportive of the community. Nerfs/buffs come once in a blue moon and no punishment is ever given to those who have demonstrated toxicity or throwing in a game. Furthermore, they created a paywall in their fanbase, only allowing people to play Coven for a fee. In which it only adds an extra odd 6 roles and utilises many old roles. Btw, did i mention some of the roles are extremely OP and that the devs never fix the roles? What spites me most about this is the fact that they did this when ToL released, due to competition. What can else can I say except the developers are greedy jews.
