Big fan of the series, and FFIII has all the classical elements. It's more difficult than all later FF games (in normal mode), because it's sort of merciless: you cannot save in dungeons (and you might die after 1h of grinding), bosses can be surprisingly tough, if your level is one too low, the job classes are not well explained and boy I had a rubbish party for most of the game. The transition from the Nintendo DS version went well, except maybe that whole letter business.

A classic. Remake was very well done. Needless to say the humor is from a era long gone.

+ the music, excellent
+ atmosphere
+ simplicity (it doesn't try to be more than it is)
+ fast story progress

- finished the game in less than two hours (my main critique)
- style: in particular, textures and lighting are too cartoonish and flat for a game that simulates an underwater world. That's a subjective thing though

Overall: thousands of colorful marine animals that move (sort of) realistically make this an impüressive, but way too short and flat journey.

Beautiful. Gameplay feels like a mix of Super Metroid and Rayman Legends

Completely absorbed by the atmosphere. Made my 8bit heart jump. Gameplay is awesome.

Mixed feelings about the game
positive (when played in difficult mode):
- game play of stealing and stealth is awesome - sneaky and convincing
- lovely side stories telling us what's going on behind the curtains of normal people's lives
- several missions create disturbing atmosphere and have a nice scenery
- entertaining and good pacing

negative:
- the overall main story is a joke, doesn't make sense
- the game is but a sad shadow of thief 1 and 2 in terms of style and creativity
- Garrett has zero personality
- splitting the main story into discrete missions creates an arcade feeling
- several useless characters roaming around

in total: if you played thief 1 and 2, you will be mostly disappointed. If you want to solve riddles and steal, it's entertaining.
