Tell us you're all broke and stingy without telling us you're all broke and stingy. Most of you have owned the DLC for YEARS now. You likely gotten your moneys worth and more in supporting a developer on a game you obviously enjoy playing. If you have an issue simply paying for a product or content that a studio put HARD WORK AND HUNDREDS OF HOURS INTO, run off and go sink your time into a FTP battlepass/lootcrate game.

Fantastic idle game that teaches/hones python-esque code(EXTREMELY close, near identical) in a well paced and engaging fashion.

Extremely well polished, no bugs encountered so far. However, I definitely would like to see a few things added.
  • Needs global variable manipulation within a function (It seems to reduce scope when referenced and instead manipulates a local copy of it, leaving the global copy as is)
  • list comprehension should be unlocked with the list unlock.

Now that Sony has backpedaled on forcing account linking, I'll give this game the recognition it really deserves. This game has been a fantastic refreshment from the copy/paste AAA games saturating the market today. It contains a fun gameplay loop, where challenges are stressful, but not overly so, and communication is highly encouraged. It is designed in such a way that promotes divers meeting new people, communicating, and connecting, without being overly forceful on meeting randos. The story is constantly developing, and done in such a way that the community can feel largely responsible for the direction that each development takes,
which is fantastic story telling in my opinion. This progression continually provides the community with new challenges, and new tools to face them, making sure we never really run out of things to do.

As a reminder that the big corporations are continually out to milk us of everything we have, my previous will remain here below. Should something like this ever happen again, this review WILL be changed again to reflect my dissatisfaction.

Review pre-PSN retraction:
Since its release, I've thoroughly enjoyed this game, finding it to be a refreshing departure from the typical AAA titles that have flooded the market. However, I've made the decision to uninstall it and likely won't return unless recent changes are permanently reversed. The mandate to link accounts to PSN, especially when the game has functioned without this requirement for some time, raises several concerns:

  • Increased Security Risk: Having a secondary account for a single product doubles the risk of account compromise. This significantly heightens the likelihood of personal information being stolen in the event of a breach by either company.
  • Unauthorized Data Collection: By enforcing this linkage, another entity is now freely collecting and potentially reselling personal information that users did not originally consent to. This violates the initial purchase agreement, effectively retracting a purchased product from consumers who do not agree to this forced change, well before its expected end of service.
  • Accessibility Issues: Many countries lack access to PSN, preventing users in those regions from accessing their accounts or logging in. This renders the title unusable without updates to bypass the PSN linking, unfairly revoking access to a paid product for many users before the expected end of service.
  • Reliability Concerns: For players who opt to link their accounts, game-play now depends on TWO authentication servers being fully operational at all times. Should either server fail or pull support for any reason, players would lose access to the game. This could result in more frequent downtime for maintenance, crashes, breaches, etc., on either company's end.

The reasons Arrowhead has given in favor of this change are complete hogwash. They already have their own auth system with Steam that is already, or can easily be made capable of managing bans and appeals. Sony is in no way a requirement in making these things functional.

Spitz has dismissed these concerns, suggesting that this change is insignificant, requiring only about 120 seconds of a user's day. This dismissive attitude demonstrates a lack of consideration for those whose circumstances differ from his own and a disregard for those who prioritize the security of their personal information, and I refuse to support any company openly presenting this attitude.

Obviously its still very early and theres still work to be done, and thats fine. Even still, the games been a lot of fun for our group.
My primary issues thus far are mostly to do with server connection.
- Servers often refuse to populate within the community list regardless of settings, and when they do, often still cant be searched for.
- direct connection entries dont have any memory, making it more tedious to enter server IP/port every single time
- (my personal biggest want) we cant enter URLs in place of IP/port. We attempted to domain map our server to remember the address easier (it wouldn't show in community listings), only to find the game wont even attempt connecting with it.

Great visuals and feel, though I harshly dislike the inability to save progress and return later. The game focuses too much on being 'instance' based, and this makes is impossible for me and my friends to chip away at a large mission over time. The game could benefit greatly from having an option for BOTH play styles. Not all of us want to host a persistent server for a linear story mission.
Another problem I have that's more personal; for some reason your headlamp seems to cast two light sources, one light cone from point of cast (you), and an invisible floating light ball that sits just in front of the first solid object that intersects with your cross-hair... I'm not entirely sure why this is being done, maybe to emulate reflection off surfaces. The problem in this, is that the floating light source has a 'driftiness' to it... when your aim shifts over two objects that vary greatly in distance, you can visually see this source travelling from one distance to the other. I constantly catch the movement of it and it actually causes me a headache to the point I need to stop playing. Oddly, this floating light source seems to ONLY be present on your personal light, NOT weapon lights... they only cast from your person, which looks much better IMO. I know its not a problem for most, but PLEASE fix this.

Loved every second of this game, despite absolutely sucking at it. Overcoming the challenges felt rewarding, which is shockingly uncommon in games these days. Would purchase any future DLC without a second thought.

Wonderful, emersive storyline. Easy to learn, easy to play. Even once the main story is finished, theres still plenty of side quests and The Following to keep entertained with
