I liked it. Yeah it was a chore. But so was life for women throughout history. DESPAIR.
Seeing the perspective of a woman in the era at best was insightful and moving,
and entertaining (good early game training) at the very least.

I was excited to play this game as I was a fan of Internet Cafe Simulator, however this game is unplayable and may never be fixed.
I can not enter my bedroom to sleep after the first day, can only faint and get robbed. Pretty apropos considering there has only been one update after release that pretty much says "so long and thanks for all the fish."

I was looking forward to this game after I enjoyed Helldivers 2 so much. (my partner gifted it to me so it wasn't free)
I refunded my gifted copy <30 minutes into the game (part of which I spent rebinding the terrible controls (C is parry? middle mouse click is aim??) because compared to helldivers 2 it has terrible gamefeel. Walk down a narrow tunnel of foliage for a minute, press E to push something out of the way, hop down a ledge you can't climb back up. No exploration of the map, fight a pack of terminids by mashing melee in ~cool ways~ (don't forget to parry/dodge based on red/blue markers like every other game!) and the story is just "Brother, we have to kill" idk what i was expecting, but Helldivers 2 is endlessly repayable to me and makes me feel more powerful than an "epic space marine" that so many games (starcraft, helldivers) are derivatives of. BAD GAME FEEL. The whole time I was looking at the clock and going "do i want to play 2 hours of this before I return it?" I COULDN'T MAKE IT 30 MINUTES before I did. If the whole game feels like the tutorial than this would have been a total waste of 60 dollars. This game is for fans of the tabletop franchise or console gamers (it plays like a worse gears of war). It is not a PC third-person shooter AT ALL.

edit: LOOKS PRETTY, THOUGH so if that's all you care about you will love it.

I NEVER make reviews, but I feel strongly about this so here we go:

I have been trying to get my friends to play this game since it came out. They said "It's always-online, I don't want to support game developers that make it so they you don't own the game you pay for" I didn't listen, I begged them to play with me, i said "it's an indy developer, the always-online is necessary for the plot!" I assumed that Arrowhead would put in a offline mode eventually if they got enough sales, but I doubt they will.

edit: It's a good game, but it would be a lot better if it didn't require an internet connection. It's a damn shame that this nice gaming experience is bottled up in an always-online package.
