leave my boy ada alone he did nothing wrong

Actual review; CONTAINS SPOILERS !!

I bought this game on a complete impulse and finished it in two or three sessions. Now that I got all CGs and presumably all endings I'd like to put my thoughts into a review because I realized I have a lot to say.

First of all, I enjoyed my time with this game! I will definitely keep an eye out for DLC and future projects.
Pretty cool that the explicit scenes are optional regardless of choices, and I feel like the story will still hold up without them despite the very heavy focus on relationships. I was also really happy to see a game that explores toxic and unhealthy dynamics without them being outright non consensual.

As for the characters - most of the characters introduced later on did not intrigue me that much until after i finished the game and had time to really think about them. Some characters unexpectedly grew on me, like Pav and Vadim who became my favorites!

I ended up having mixed feelings about Sasha and Mishka. Starting out, I liked their friendship and this sort of maybe-one-sided, maybe-not thing they have going on, and their sense of familiarity and casual intimacy despite only being friends at that point. However, their story feels like it hinges on reuniting them for a long while (long enough that i thought mishka was the only LI) but once it happens, it fell flat for me. Maybe it's the point, but by that time many other things are in motion and I couldn't care about it as much as I could everything else that was about to go down.

Finding out Dima was the other LI kind of surprised me. I thought it was super weird considering hes Mishka's boss! It probably still is weird, but after going down his route I kind of prefer it. Telling Mishka about it felt horrible though D: Dima's route seemed to reveal more about the story and the big picture, so maybe it's a good thing I played it second. the parallels between Dima and Roman's past relationship and Ada and Roman's current relationship are really really good, something I only thought about after stewing on it a little bit.

The story/plot itself had me a little confused and I had a hard time fully immersing myself in it, but maybe it's just me. I'm glad the game didnt overstay its welcome but I also wish everyone and everything got more development, because i did want to care about everything, it just feels like something is missing. I'm glad there weren't any huge exposition dumps, but it left me wanting more.

Also I love Ada and his funny nonsensical outfit. Ada i love you. I'd love to know more about him and how his relationship with Roman came to be, because his dogged loyalty to him despite being shaken quite easily by Mishka's words does intrigue me.

EDIT: Transgender characters are so rare in this genre, so a million more points for Ada being trans. Now I'm even more excited for his DLC!

The dialogue is so horrifically bad that I only got 15 minutes into the game before quitting forever. Appalling and unappealing horniness in the story from the very beginning, completely overshadowing my enjoyment of anything else in the game.

simply an adorable game, starts easy enough but gets pretty challenging. its fun to solve even when you get stuck on one puzzle for 10 minutes :D

Extremely chill open world exploration game. There is no pressure from timed missions, combat, or even accurate parkouring (which is done by simply moving forward). You can't drown, fall or damage your boat. The gameplay seems much smoother and varied, with the ability to customize your character and your boat being a very nice addition.
The story continues from the first submerged, but it seems to me you can play this game first without any issue.
At the current sale of 90% off its a crime not to pick them both up. I don't have too many words to describe it, but in every way the first game was one of my favorites, this one improves on it.
I haven't finished it yet but I'm very excited to explore everything this beautiful world has to offer.

while i love this game and project moon, i just cannot agree with the decision to fire an artist who got targeted by male "fans" with the reason for firing her being hate speech. talking about feminism is not hate speech, and bending over backwards to appease an audience that hates your developers for being women is not the way to go about this.

negative reviews from a loud minority may hurt your rating temporarily, but a decision such as this will hurt way more of your fans on a personal level and leave a way bigger stain on your reputation.

im just a person writing one review among many many others, but i hope this action will be reconsidered.

Great visual novel if you appreciate your choices having an impact and branching paths. This game has a lot of them to discover. It constantly surprised me with the many new turns the story could take if I made a different choice at a certain moment. Not to even mention the artwork, which is an absolute treat to look at, and is honestly the main reason i picked up the game in the first place. It's probably the most beautiful visual novel I've ever played.

As for the story itself, I went in not really knowing what to expect of it and started out a bit confused. Then, as the game progressed, I realized im not too fond of Ilar, who is the main and only love interest. I remained with this opinion for quite some time, but even as I spent more time with them over my many deaths and attempts of uncovering their and Vyn's story and read more of their shared past, I started to like them. Even so, some of that initial reservation remained. But then, the true ending flipped my perception of everything on its head. It was everything I needed to definitely recommend this game, despite my initial qualms. I'm so glad I stuck with the game to the true end because it was a cathartic experience after so many deaths!

TL;DR Recommended if you are looking for a VN with meaningful choices and a lot of branches, a game with a gorgeous art style, a mystery, or a story that will surprise and move you.

I really enjoyed the story and folklore in this game, and extremely appreciated the ability to skip battles with no penalty! I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good visual novel even if card battlers aren't your thing, since you can simply skip the most frustrating battles.
