Beautiful aesthetics, very unique mechanics, there's nothing else like it.

Unfortunately the devs have been quiet for almost a whole year, they don't communicate on the discord server, and the servers bug out constantly mid game and cause an app crash, assuming it didn't crash while loading into a match.

I feel like this game is abandoned but I'll probably still keep it installed to try and play against someone every now and again, or at least listen to the music. It's a shame this didn't get better support, because I have a feeling it could have been very special.

I'm an avid magic player but I wanted a change of pace, and hoo boy did I find it in Eternal. Shifted color pie? Check. Unique wincons? Check. Economy that respects your wallet? Check.

It took a while to get past the art style, and tbh my favorite music to listen to when playing card games is provided by Spotify, but I really adore this game, and it's going to save me a LOT of money that I used to burn on packs in MTG Arena just to try to stay competitive on the ladder grind.

This game has brought me transcendent joy and my planeswalker spark ignited. I'm more sportsmanlike, I'm better at deckbuilding, and I'm learning how to go minnow when I used to be a dolphin while still having a positive winrate. I can't wait until someone makes a deck tracker for this game that can help me get a better feel for win rates. GIMME SOME OF THAT SWEET SWEET DATA, LADS!

Visually speaking it's only got a few minor nitpicks from me, and that is I think the PC version should come with some higher resolution assets for model textures and card art. I understand that it's also a mobile game, and it looks and plays amazingly on Steam Deck and my iOS mobile devices, but when I'm on my PC I want something that looks crisp at 1080p 2k. I can't even imagine what this looks like on a 4K monitor.

Audio wise this is the only card game I've ever played with a dynamic soundtrack and sound effects. The roar of the crowd and the arenas' battle music both react to the flow of battle between Spellslingers, and it makes for a completely unique and very engaging experience.

I really like how communication is limited in this game, it seems to be set up in such a way that you can't trash talk your opponents, and I really appreciate that.

Progression is slow, but there are higher risk events that can help boost that. The crafting system is much more accessible than MTG Arena's is, and honestly I would love to see a teams system emerge in arena where players could pool resources like you can in Spellslingers.

I could never get into Hearthstone or Shadowverse, I actively play the single player campaign mode of Legends of Runeterra, and I play competitively on MTG Arena, primarily in the Alchemy format.

Spellslingers makes me feel like I'm on a sports team, and I sincerely hope that we can get "Team Competitions" started in a tournament space someday. I think that would be a unique competitive experience that you couldn't find anywhere else.

To wrap this long winded review up, I'd just like to say that I absolutely adore this game AND MTG Arena, for different reasons, and if you're scrolling through reviews where people are complaining, this just isn't the game for them. But it COULD be the game for YOU.

This game is amazing, I play it in breaks between homework and housework, just leave it running, and the music is so cheerful and uplifting that it really brightens my days overall. Can't recommend Temtem enough!
