Flowers bloomed upon the meadows
Their colorful flora hiding the ugly soil
Under the bed of thorny stems
and petals burning against the sea of green

Picked a lavender
Its scent irresistibly sweet
Its violet hue a testament to its regal beauty
Dreading naught but to shine alone
Amidst the gaze of sullen eyes

Looked back the lotus
Envious of the lavender,
Of the rose
Of the cherry blossom
For their charm eternal

In a world where the laws of physics simply do not permit man to hastily make themselves from one stellar entity to another, you have, for whatever reason ought to be, landed in a world where no law exists. Now, if you are a Rousseauist looking for a game that will pleasure your ideals, well, you should hold back your excitement. The game is truly a simulacrum of Hobbes' beliefs. There is no peace in this world; there are only the matters of life and death wherein you either kill or you get killed. After all, you are to dwell upon the natural state of mankind as Hobbes said, in a war of all against all.
It is this exquisite demonstration of human nature that this game is a true masterpiece. Despite the player living in a civilized world and much less in war of all against all, the player finds themselves making choices they would dare not make in real life, much for fear of the consequences and the violation of their social contract. Yet, in Rimworld, there is no such social contract; there exists only the natural state in which one must do whatever possible to dominate others. As such, even those educated of morals in the civilized world does not hesitate to chop off their rival's limbs, force people to a state of servitude, or consume the corpses of kin, whether to survive or simply for sadistic pleasures.
Truly, if you wish to observe the weakness of your own morals against the powerful force of nature, I recommend you buy this game in haste, for nature awaits no man.
