BallisticNG is a futuristic anti-gravity racer that takes me back to the days of the Wipeout series. It nails the aesthetic really well and overall the fine details make this a beautiful game. However, there are a few things that need to be ironed out in order to make this a top-tier game.

PROS:
1) Fast-paced action.
2) Multiple different teams each with unique ships and stats.
3) Amazing visuals fitting a modernized, futuristic aesthetic.
4) Workshop support for custom tracks and ships (big plus)
5) First-person camera angle (optional) and VR support.
6) Diverse selection of tracks, gamemodes, and ships to choose from.
7) Comes with a photo mode so you can take pretty pictures.
8) Great soundtrack.

CONS:
-1) Some ships are harder to control than others, so picking the wrong one at the start (like I did...), the start of the game gets a bit harder. Controls also take a bit of getting used to.
-2) Post-race leaderboards aren't given, only the place you finished and your lap times (unless it's a campaign tournament).
-3) VERY unrealistic Time Trial goals make attempting them basically pointless (like come on, it takes me 55 seconds to do a lap on Omega Harbour and you want me to do 4 laps in 3 minutes?)
-4) No middle ground between Normal and Extreme difficulty settings (Normal sometimes is too easy, while Extreme is sometimes too hard).
-5) No replay system.

Overall the game is great. It's not perfect, but it's great. 4 out of 5 stars, would recommend.

Team Tenrai ftw.

Now, I can guarantee that at least one person will see this game upon it's release and say "This just looks like a Just Shapes and Beats clone. Why should I buy it!?" Here's a set of reasons as to why you should buy this game.

- $12 is a very fair price for the amount of content and replay value you can get out of this game.
- 8-player local co-op support.
- A level editor that's very easy to navigate through once you get used to it.
- Over 150 unique user-made levels uploaded on Steam Workshop with definitely more to come.
- A dynamic set of difficulties ranging from Easy to Expert+, pandering to players of all types.

But someone might say "But didn't JSaB come out first!?" And to that, there are a few things worth noting:

- The development of Project Arrhythmia started 6 years ago, before JSaB even existed if I recall correctly.
- Both games were made without knowledge of the other
- Both companies are okay with each other's existence.

What is my point? I'm saying that YOU SHOULD GET THIS GAME. It is definitely worth the money. Over the past few months I've known about this game and been a beta-tester for it, I've watched the game grow, new features be added, and witnessed it slowly inch towards completion. I've played other people's levels. I've made my own levels. Now today's the day when everybody gets to enjoy this masterpiece of a game.

I just completed the story mode and I have to say that this might just be one of the greatest game I have ever played. Everything about it was wonderful, and the characters were adorable. The game was fairly easy for me, but it did lead to some rage near the last few stages. All in all, truly a masterpiece. Can't wait for more tracks to be added!

Oh my god this game was my childhood back on the DS. To find out that it was back and that Taito wasn't a dead corporation was one of the best things I've heard all year. The visuals have been touched up and the audio has been remastered and it makes the game so much better! Controls were simple and easy to understand. I've recieved no frame-drops, no lag, no nothing! This game runs smooth af! I love this. I love everything about this. Get this game. It is WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I really hope that Taito will remaster Space Invaders Extreme 2 and put that on Steam as well!
