Let me begin by stating that I have over 1200 hours in this game. As someone who has hundreds of games with less than 10 hours in them that is quite a feat. I dont stick with one thing for long in most cases.

You are going to read tons of reviews about how the Devs are so shady and there are so many bugs. Forget that garbage. That is just salt. Sort of like the Hillary crowd. It doesnt matter that your feelings are hurt, the fact is that objectively the game itself it great. Most of those "dont buy this I hate it" players have thousands of hours in the game. How can you get thousands of hours if the game was so bad? Answer: you cant. Something was balanced that they were taking advantage of and they got mad about it.

Let me go over a few things.

Gameplay - This game will let you do so much that you will likely have 50 unfinished projects before your first month is done. From the building system to the leveling system, to taming and breeding, and just plain exploring the maps or the caves. If you ever get bored with that then there are thousands upon thousands of mods to change or tweak all sorts of little things. Some convert the game into something entirely different. You will have a hard time running out of things to do for a while.

Story - This is where the game loses some points. Theres no reason for you to be here and do anything. Any goals that you have are ones you made for yourself. Tame a dino, build a castle, get to level 80, Get Tek Gear, etc. etc. Theres no tutorial to guide you around. Theres no note or sign or anything when you start, its just wake up and go do things. You can sort of figure out that things are not naturally occuring here and there are signs of Alien involvement but its never confirmed. Sort of like a choose your own adventure book except every page is blank and you write it as you go.
