practiced with trackIR and a racing wheel every day fora couple weeks before taking my practical (dutch) exam. It really helped me put into practice the things i was learning in my payed lessons and drill those habits of looking over my shoulder when turning etc, especially with the trackIR.

UPDATE 10/29/21:
So I was feeling nostalgic and decided to give crossout another go (because it is genuinely a fun game sometimes) and my plan was to see how much fun I could have in the lower ranks where all these scammy p2w games (war thunder world of warships etc) should really be played if you want to enjoy them,

BUT LMAO I CANT EVEN LOG IN LOL error18 and can't link my steam account

absolute trash developer. 3 years and still in "open beta" should tell you everything.
Now I gotta scrub all 9 gb of this trash from my computer

DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY YOU WILL LOSE IT

After getting into the game and enjoying it, I payed quite a bit for packs and in game currency. Being an adult, I understand that games aren't free to develop and I always wish to support my fellow developers.

However, when I logged in today, I found that my items were gone.
Everything had been sold and the money was being siphoned off to another account (I have NO idea how this is even possible)

When I contacted gaijin, I got the response that returning my account to the state it was before was "technically impossible". I develop database software for a living, this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
It's right there in their eula that you are solely responsible for your stuff getting stolen. I wouldn't be surprised if it's gaijin employees doing it.

Do NOT give them money. avoid crossout, avoid war thunder, avoid all gaijin.net games. They are thieves and crooks. Spread the word so nobody makes the mistake I did.

After I got tired of WoT, I decided to give WoW a go.
The Free to play aspect is a massive red flag with these games.
If the game is "free", how do they get you to pay money?
The answer is pay to win.

WoW is such a pay to win game that while easily have the money to spend on it, I really don't want to.
I'd rather spend 10 bucks a month on a subscription for a well balanced fair game that isn't trying to screw microtransactions out of you with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanics than on this garbage.

How do they screw money out of you?

It goes something like this.

tier 1-4
gameplay is fun, balanced, you win some you lose some and when you lose you know it was your fault, at no point do you feel cheated.

tier 5+
Unless you purchased a premium ship and unless you use ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ "flags" (a consumable that you eventually pay for) there is no way to avoid the artificially unbalanced nature of the game.

I can land 20 hits consistently on an enemy ship, using the right ammo in the right place, and only JUST kill them.
Meanwhile someone in a pay to win ship gets one hit on me from accross the map and I die instantly having taken no prior damage, usually someone I can't even SEE at this point because wargamer thinks hiding models based on some crap "spotted" mechanic is a good idea.
This has happened consistently with every match I played in tier 5.

At this point i'm done with the game, I know it would be a much better experience if I pay for it, but i'm disgusted by p2w mechanics. It's the cancer of the gaming industry and shouldn't be rewarded.

I play games to enjoy myself and the sheer greed-fuelled bullcrap they pull off in these games leads to nothing but a bad experience for trying.
