Hallelujah, Arrowhead and Sony saw the light and will not be moving forward with the PSN requirements.

Although the game has it's quirks and bugs it's an incredibly fun experience and worth getting. Like explosions? The game has it!
Have friends? You can squad up for a group of 4 and enjoy blowing each other up while liberating the galaxy from the enemies of Super Earth!

Original review from 5/3/2024: The game required linking with PSN when I booted it up on launch day so I'm already linked and this upcoming change won't affect me.

I didn't realize they had removed the requirement but now trying to implement it again after multitudes of people have purchased and played the game for potentially hundreds of hours without this requirement and telling them "If you don't link, we're robbing you of your product." is criminal.

The game was fun and it'll be sad to see it take a hit from this. Even sadder if this decision kills the game.

If the geniuses at Sony decide to revoke this requirement I'd be happy to remove my negative review.

Game is currently very unbalanced. Of the starting mobile suits Sniper GM and Barbatos are completely OP compared to the others with sniper needing a single headshot to kill on a recoilless gun and barb having a 1,2 kill combo that can be done about every 3 seconds.

Then we have the 5 mobile suits that you need to either play the game for weeks to unlock a single one because there are no match rewards or you can pay the low low price of 40 dollars to essentially win all of your matches because of how overpowered the locked suits are.

Zaku Melee requires next to no skill since he's melee, but his melee attacks also shoot projectiles that make him ranged and are unblockable by some of the other character's shields. He also has and ability the negates all damage for 2 seconds and makes him more powerful if shot, which WILL happen in pub games. Finally his ultimate lasts long enough for him to kill the entire enemy team because he keeps mobility and constantly ♥♥♥♥♥ out damage.

Exia admittedly has a higher skill floor than Zaku but is still capable of soloing the entire enemy team becauseof a heavy hitting dash attack that stuns, no damage drop off on ranged attacks, and multiple dashes for escaping if you ♥♥♥♥ up(also seems to have a smaller hitbox because skinny)

Marusai is essentially a ranged Barbatos with a 1,2 kill combo that leaves the victim stunned the entire time so if you get hit you may as well go get a cup of water or something because you'll need to wait for the respawn timer

Unicorn isn't directly super strong but has a constant passive heal for the entire team and a full team armor up ability that just allows whatever team it's on to deathball uncontested.

Game needs serious rebalancing and some sort of match-based reward system that isn't daily/weekly challenges to make it worth playing.

Very well constructed puzzle game. It may have a Lovecraftian atmosphere but it's definitely not overbearing. You can think about the background the game provides if you enjoy Lovecraft style games but if you're just here for a good puzzle experience the "lore" can easily be pushed to the back of your mind as you explore the beautifully constructed levels.

Game is good. Have much fun. Would play again but don't want to. Maybe later.
