nice and fun game. though, i think it's missing something to make it fun to play after beating all the cheevos :(

It's hard to recommend this game. I enjoyed the previous game in the NFS series, NFS Heat, which I felt like was an okay attempt at making a street racing, vaguely storyline driven game (albeit with some shortcomings, too). I had an impression that this would be a spiritual successor to that game. Well, I've finished the main storyline (in a fairly rushed manner). The story's quite thin, and the side quests are quite similar to one another (they're all fetch quests, essentially: go get a car/go get a car + police/go get a person). The set up to the story feels rushed and could use more exposition. The main characters aren't very likeable either. Yeah the old man's out of touch, haha so funny!! Let's beat that horse every other day; The other two characters are flawed, at least one of them improves by the end of the game through some kind of redemption, if you could call it that. I wish I could have more fun with the characters after the main story (despite me mostly disliking the characters lol), like.. where are the phone calls? The in-garage chatter? The town's dead now, and all I can do is drive around and earn money. Guess I'll wait for the next meh-tier entry in the franchise to see if it's any better. :)

I'm only rating this up because there is an interesting concept here. Your success with the game solely depends on good luck, which severely cuts down on enjoyment. To put things into perspective, it is possible to get upwards of 40,000 points on the first level, but the minimum requirement nets you around 4,000. For high score challenges, it is very undesirable to cut your losses and the gameplay will eventually devolve into repeating level 1 until you get a good final piece sequence. With the ridiculous amount of possible piece shape permutations is likely not to happen. If you do get this game, godspeed I guess.

the game's author seems to have a particular bias towards bust measurements above a certain point. as such, the game's absolutely wild visuals may not appeal to everyone.

if i am to be real, the game lacks a lot of what makes tetris games enjoyable: wallkicks, autorepeat, a randomizer that's not fully random (even NES Tetris had a bias towards not giving out the same piece twice), a larger field than 8x14 (such as 10x20), a background that doesn't blend with most active piece colours, field boundaries that actually extend beyond the visible field (so that pieces like S, Z, L and J don't get stuck on the upper part of the wall), a counter clockwise rotation button, customizable controls.. i could go on with more specifics, but i reckon this might give you an idea.

Good old, well crafted fun. It's particularly fun playing with someone, and especially when that someone consistently walks into traps 2-3 tiles away from the initial spawnpoint.
