it's a great game, but at this point of its life cycle it might be difficult to get into because the skill level of the player base has risen.
However, the same could probably have been said about the game a few years ago when I started.

Early Access Review
Just a great open-world sandbox style survival game. I've tried a few other games in the genre and keep coming back to this one because the others are simply not as good.
