Quite an interesting take on the genre, but I feel like the enemies need more variety/interesting combat mechanics to truly shine. Not sure how the mana system will feel after a ton of runs, can be quite annoying to get mana screwed/flooded and balancing the mana pool overall in your deck.

Two paths only to choose from is also quite boring, especially with only like split pats in the entire act.

Will keep up with the game, it's a fresh take and looks like it'll be one of the more interesting games in the genre. Recommended because, while rough, it's worth to check it out!

I'm always down for single player autobattlers, and this one is really charming! Admittedly the artstyle is not my cup of tea (it's perfectly well made though!), but the progression and managing your troops space felt really good.

I'd like for some more visual clarity + info on units being a little more well placed/explained, but overall I enjoyed it, will check out the finished release.

I wish it was a bit harder but it might be because it's only a demo. When your city gets going it's hard to stop. Felt that gold could also be used in more than just Greed builds.

But all in all a quick, fun autobattler/basebuilder! Will definitely check out the full release!

Didn't play too much because I'm eager to play the full version! Game seems super interesting and I'm excited for the release.

I like non traditional card games and I like roguelikes, but I was skeptical of Balatro. I looked at it and thought... ok, so what? It looked meh at best.

Turns out playing it is completely different, what a fun game! Runs take very different paths depending on jokers, decks, tags... It's a really satisfying experience to build towards a huge combo that makes you want to go back for more.

Balatro is more than worthy to be among the greatest roguelikes you can play.

Chill auto battler with an an asynchronous main mode that allows the player to take their time while playing. You can play in set pools of units or draft your own with a custom deck (that also features a "wild" category for the more spicy builds).

Surprisingly deep, and a good player will get good runs pretty much always, although a 10 win victory can get ruined by bad RNG.

Monetization is really fair, with the base pack, some custom pets and the weekly pack all free. Remaining packs are a set price, and you can always choose to play only against the same pack that you selected, so no pay-to-win shenanigans there.

I wish we had access to more stats to better understand losses, but all in all a great and entertaining game.

Early Access Review
Quite different from PoE 1, so go into it with the right expectations.

It's slower, deadlier and more methodical. But damn if it isn't good. Unfortunately my 8 year old PC is struggling to run it, but I've been loving the experience so far.

I thought I only had room for one automation-builder, resource collecting, planet explorer game in Factorio.

Turns out I was wrong. Not only I also have room for Satisfactory, it makes you see this niche genre in a whole different way.

Implementing DRM retroactively to impede users of using mods is outrageous. Reverse this decision, Capcom.
