I had to think hard on whether I recommended this game or not, because I LOVED the demo a lot, but I ultimately had to decide on the negative. As of writing this review, I have played 8.8 hours of this game, 6.5 hours of which I was still on one ending, due to countless bugs and confusing gameplay. Let me just start by expressing how amazing the scares are in this game, superbly well-timed jumpscares, great overall tension, and you are led into a false sense of security when getting stuck into the body embalming mechanic, so when the scares come, they are terrifying. It's just really unnerving and the sound design is just fabulous.

However, when you play for hours on end, hitting bugs that made you have to restart, the scares and the whole game play becomes so repetitive and frustrating. The main bug for me was the sigils not appearing on the foreheads, in which you end up being possessed if you don't take a random guess at which body it is, which is highly frustrating. If you fail a shift, you start another right from the beginning of a brand new one and it get more of an irritating chore to embalm 3 bodies every single time, especially if it's a bug error, and not a mistake of you missing something.

A BIG tip, - Make sure you fully read the computer resources, listen to the tapes on the desk, and read the instructions on the items you pick up for the demonic hunting portion. I found it extremely difficult to understand, and when it finally clicked, the bugs that didn't provide you with the demonic evidence you need to burn a body, makes your hard work not worthwhile in the slightest.

I still have two endings to find, but the other 3 have basically been exactly the same minus a few script changes at the end which add nothing to the story, not rewarding at all unfortunately. This full game is not worth even the sale price it is at (I got it for £17, RRP is £19.49 which is even more extortionate). I like to think that game creators deserve so much for their hard work, and it's clear the creator has worked long and hard on this game, but I cannot justify the price for a game that is so unclear in it's gameplay and story and is so buggy, that you are forced to repeat progress to the point that it comes uninteresting and loses it's fear factor. There's just too much going on and the game doesn't really know what it wants to be.

I hope that this game continues to be patched, but still, for me the game was difficult to understand and just became frustrating. I streamed this game, and even with the help of others, we all struggled to pick up the gameplay mechanics, even with some tips from walk-throughs. It's like there's too much going on. To me, it should keep in the mortuary elements as they are, you easily pick this part up with practice as you do so many of them, but either take out the demonic hunting element, or take out the story flashback elements. There's too much going on. Also, I find that when you get into the final stages of being possessed, it does not give you enough time to burn your selected body, that's if the sigil even appears.

The only thing that carries this game is it's phenomenal scares and horror elements, but everything else falls so flat for me and I'm so disappointed as I really tried hard to love it. But I cannot recommend this game.

I played episode one which was short but really good, so when episode two came out I instantly bought it. I am really disappointed with this game, and it took me nearly 2 and a half hours to complete, it's really slow and tedious. I first played and there was the first prompt to "get out the vehicle", naturally, you do it. I figured from this point I had to walk the rest of the way. Please don't be like me and do this, it bugs out the game and it got really confusing.

A friend looked up a play through and we figured we had to continue driving, and in all honesty nothing much happens in the game at all. The overall atmosphere was initially good, but the story made no sense. At the store you're warned that if you drove on ahead, to avoid a woman in blue or white and not to pick up hitchhikers on the way. We get none of that story playing out at all. Also, if you make a mistake in this game the auto save points are SO far behind you get bored of having to repeat the same things over and over again, made worse by ridiculously slow walking speeds and really bad turning action on the driving mechanic. It's also easy to confuse the failed attempts as the game just ending. Many times I'd made a mistake, and the game just cuts back to the menu and you think that's it.

Overall, I don't recommend the game at all. Even if it took me the supposed "40 minutes" to complete, it just wouldn't have any pay off at all. Episode one was great, but this is just a badly paced drawn out alteration on the first game sadly. It's a shame because when the atmosphere, sound design and scares are there, it's a genuinely unnerving game. But when it goes on for so long and gets frustrating and repetitive, it really quickly loses it's touch.
