Ok so general consensus of Valley. Good game, simple and intuitive action, solid soundtrack, grate landscape traversal, voice acting is acceptable, dumb and forgettable story, random spikes in difficulty that can lead to frustrating/repetitive deaths, levels that are supposed to feel tense and stressful are not, not really worth a full price of $20, should only purchase while on sale for it's $4 sale price.

Someone should clearly hire these people or give them the budget to build a real AA or AAA title and hire a better story writer.

Valkyria Chronicles is a great game but the desert boss fight against the super tank is the Stupidist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Overpowered ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I've ever experienced. Because of the stupid game mechanic of as soon as you start your turn things can ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fill you with bullet holes there are too many times where I'm readying a lancer to shoot the turrets and they kill me before I can put my gun up or heal. The readying your weapon lag and the time until they stop firing lag is too much so you can't actually do anything on your turn other than watch your units die one after the other. Now, let's say that you destroy all of the turrets and knock down the pieces so you can progress the boss fight to stage 2 well you better be ready to watch all your units die again. How fun. But wait there's more. This time you have an Overpowered enemy unit that you can't damage or stun and she can literally one shot any of your units from across the map. Sounds great right? Well I haven't even gotten to the best part yet. Now, let's say that you thought you were safe behind a solid object. Sounds logical. Well you would be wrong. Her OP ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Beam of Ass Raping, that you also can't out run, clips through the side of solid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ objects. And here's another thing. Let's say that you've skillfully countered her OP ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beam of Ass Raping with the units you have left well she also spawns in with like 5 other guys, so remember all those units you use to have that got killed by her (it's ok if you don't. It's been a while and they're probably all dead) well if any of them are still alive these guys are ready to prance on over and ♥♥♥♥ all over their faces. So now you're left with a tank and maybe one or two lancers, here's where it gets fun, and you've actually, by some miracle, destroyed all of the heat sinks well now you have to destroy the tank itself. Now you do this like any other tank except you're still trying to dodge little miss OP ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and if you don't kill it before it reaches the last camp you lose and get to do it all over again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again.
I don't know who designed this boss or who designed the turrets and OP ♥♥♥♥♥ but they are sush incredible amatures at their job. A game is meant to be playable and have logical mechanics behind it that players can use and learn from. This boss fight however, literally takes all of that and gives you a big metal turreted middle finger and just expects RNJesus to come save you rather than actually giving the player the tools to handle the situation and making it a fun and cool learning experience. I don't know why you would take all that time laying the ground work and teaching game mechanics only to have this boss that introduces an undamageable enemy that can kill and unit that either tries to run away from it or hide from it. It's just super amateurish and show that the person designing this boss fight doesn't understand how boss fights work. If you need ideas on how very difficult, seemingly impossible, yet still fair, boss fights look like and function like look at the Dark Souls franchise.
I want to play the game but if the game is designed to just ♥♥♥♥ you over then I'm not interested.
Another critique is that this game needs a quick load or forefit button because when everyone does die all around you and you're looking for a reset you have to find a way to get Welkin killed and many of times it ends up being a very slow process of turning your butt around so people can slowly tick down your health. Not the most fun or time efficient way of doing things.

This game is great and very realistic, but you definitely need to play this with friends and it has a definite learning curve.
