I heard a lot about this game and wanted to try it for myself. I wanted to like it. I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

As far as linear sci-fi action FPS games go, this is pretty standard fare. If not for the time manipulation mechanics I'd say down right generic. The gunplay is serviceable, nothing really feels *great* to use. There's a lack of presence in the weapon animations, which feels odd since the UI itself is animated so well.

The story is, uh, there. Sort of. As each level transition comes and goes you'll be transported to a different location. It doesn't feel very seamless, even though the narrative sets it up to be.

Speaking of the narrative, you're pretty much just thrown into it. It's a fairly simple premise: bad guy goes back in time and ends up creating a dystopian society, you're the one going back in time to stop it, et cetera.

Each of the levels that I played usually had you joining up with a crew of generic friendly soldiers for a minute or two before they are ultimately killed off and replaced by another batch of clones in the next level. I wondered when I would meet a character that actually stuck around for a little while. I wondered when it would be explained who all these people were. I wondered when someone would notice I'm a time traveler and tell me what the hell is going on. Obviously there is some sort of resistance movement, but that's the most depth you're going to get from it.

There's nothing for the player to latch on to that really motives them to push forward. Maybe I stopped playing right before that happened, maybe not. Perhaps I'll revisit this one day.

Psychopomp GOLD is a sort of remaster/expansion to its free predecessor Psychopomp. Karbonic has gone back over the original levels with a layer of polish, as well as adding in several new levels and locations that extend the storyline. There's even a secret ending to uncover, and a budding mod scene that has already introduced more content to play.

Judging by a significant tease in the game's epilogue, Karbonic does not appear to be done with the universe of Pyschopomp. I eagerly await the sequel!

I can't say I've ever played a game like this before. It's an interesting blend of genres; RPG, souls-like, and... extraction shooter?! You have the tight, snappy gameplay of a Destiny title with the potential to flow through the battlefield like Doomguy. Tons of variety thanks to numerous weapons, upgrades, charms, artifacts and power-ups. Every run that you do has the possibility of introducing a new playstyle to build around. It's satisfying! Surprisingly polished in its current state, too.

The only real problem I have is that some things are not very well explained, like the elixir crafting system. Very minor complaint though. So far, this has been worth every penny.

An excellent evolution of the Frostpunk formula, set several decades after the events of the first game.

As Frostpunk 1 had you scrambling and scavenging to ensure your city's survival against the whiteout, Frostpunk 2 ups the ante in every way, adding plenty of new gameplay systems and ways to morph society to your (or your factions) desire. The scale is vastly different - instead of managing a single city, you now must split your attention between multiple colonies and outposts to ensure that your city does not fall, and continues to thrive.

If you loved Frostpunk 1 and want a bigger, grander experience, this is exactly what you're looking for.

Short but sweet horror experience with an intriguing yet obscure story to discover. For more content, refined levels and mod support, check out Psychopomp Gold.

Super fun to play with friends. Almost every mission is a fight for your life; it's not just big bugs or robots you have to look out for, but your own pals. This leads to many spectacular moments, which range all the way from narrowly surviving an onslaught as the last man standing, to being exploded to bits because your teammate dropped a 500kg bomb after getting knocked over by a stiff breeze. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Imagine if they took Half-Life, added co-op, threw in a bunch of survival crafting mechanics, made you scrounge for every bit of your arsenal, and didn't give you a proper gun until you were 15 hours in. Sprinkle in some SCP for good measure. Despite its in-development state, this title already has so much content, with even more on the way.

Brilliant blend of the sci-fi, survival and horror genres; this is a must play.

Interesting premise. Feels really unpolished, animations look lazy and performance isn't great.
