Bug-ridden game 10/10

Behind the relatively simple graphics is an elegant strategy game with tons of depth. Unlike other autobattlers, you can move your fighters between rounds, which allows for some really crazy combos and counterplay to match.

The developers are active in Discord and quite friendly, which is awesome to see.

Progression is very generous: your starting cards are just as strong as the cards you later unlock. If I lose, it's typically because I didn't construct a balanced deck or I misplayed my hand, not because someone just had "better" cards than me. You can also easily unlock pretty much the entire set of cards in ~20 hours, which is faster than it takes to even learn all of them.

I am so confused by the path tool (was one click away from refunding the game), and the UI in general is pretty clunky, but behind those flaws is a great coaster simulation game. I still prefer RollerCoaster Tycoon as a tycoon game (the scenarios here feel boring by comparison) and overall this game lacks the charm of RCT, but as for making the theme park of my dreams, this game is going to be hard to beat.

In 2009, during my last semester of high school, I created the original Legion TD map on Warcraft 3. I made it just for fun, to play with friends from school.

As much as I loved Dota, Footies, Wintermaul, and every other TD out there, nothing ever felt like the game for me. I wanted gameplay that was:
a) team vs. team, so I could queue with my bros.
b) high skill cap, since I'm a tryhard.
c) strategic, without all the micro, since I have terrible aim.
and I couldn't find anything else that checked all those boxes.

...7 years of work and 283,246 lines of code later...

I am deeply tired, but proud of the game Legion TD 2 has become. Chill, like a TD, yet deeply strategic. After thousands of hours, there's more to discover.

I can honestly say that after a long day of working on Legion TD 2, I still like to relax and unwind by playing...Legion TD 2.

Seems really polished and has fun mechanics! But nobody is online. No way to create custom lobbies to play with your friends either.
