I already loved the style, humor and battle gameplay of this game, but the "capture new recruits" mechanic of the game sealed the deal for me.

The game can be played almost entirely with a regular mouse and this is a huge plus for me. You do have to tweak the controls a bit though and I would have prefered if the mouse 3 button could be used to end the turn by default (instead of just space) but this could still change of course if there is enough demand for it.

It's still a little rough around the edges (eg. menu control feels a bit clunky to me with mouse) but this is to be expected for an early access title and is subject to change. Still, it already plays like a finished product and the fact that things will still improve is very, very promising.

Overall I think Pit People is a really fun game with loads of more potential. I recommend it to anyone who isn't afraid of early access.

It might take a while to get the hang of it, but when you do, it will not let you go. I'm serious here, this stuff is dangerous. This game will suck you in with it's addictive gameplay and amazingly charming personality. As a plus, you will probably learn some new things about our history, the game is full of interesting information and the developers are obviously very passionate about the subject. The whole experience feels like a big love letter to our collective history. You owe it to yourself to have at least tried this game!
