I think there is too much to unpack on this game in one short steam review and this is only for the first two chapters. The dark themes, the humor, and characters had me very interested when playing through the first chapter. After playing the second though? I went from being interested to being hooked. Ashley and Andrew are fascinating characters who both have their own respective and extreme flaws. Without going into a lot of detail Ashley is very controlling and uses manipulation to keep a hold on "Andy". She often displays many sociopathic tendencies in her actions, often disregarding how Andrew feels. Depending on decisions in the game this can lead to her grasp hardening or "Andrew" growing to identify her behavior and resent her for it. Ashley is terrified of Andrew becoming more desensitized to her behavior. It's clear that each character would not be who they are without the other's presence and the more Andrew becomes fed up with her antics, the most the balance of their personalities shifts. I am very excited to see more of these characters.

I had to donate to Dan, there are few games that leave such a lasting affect on me. This was one of them.

This was not what I expected... I have never been spooked by a videogame harder than this one.

I followed the development for this game ever since it was announced for development. When it came out I was active for 3 years. It ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pains me to say this, but this is one of the worst games ever. The Dev team is insanely small and is not competent enough to fix the game. The point of an alpha is to fix the core game and the Devs have completed ignored that by constantly adding items in the game and creating bugs they only fix 2 years later. The core game is combat, zombie mechanics, item mechanics, and movement. General game mechanics. All the mechanics I listed are broken and after three years the idiotics devs still have not fixed the problems. Zombies are still buggy as hell and always will be. Currently in this patch they have a force field around them so they push you away when you try melee combat. Melee combat is also a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke. Melee weapons do such ♥♥♥♥ damage its ridiculous. The swinging movemetn of an weapon sucks ass too.

Items are still buggy and sometimes you can't even pick them up. Not to mention you can't find ♥♥♥♥ anywhere.

Movement is a JOKE. Your character can walk 3 feet and all the sudden be completely out of breath for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason. If you are getting shot at you can just zig zag your ass off and in combination with this games ♥♥♥♥♥♥ desync it makes it almost impossible to hit any player with a weapon.

Which leads to the biggest problem of the game. The guns are retarded. When you aim down sights all the sudden your character has to broken ankles and two broken arms. Which means he moves slower than a retarded turtle and you cannot aim for ♥♥♥♥ because the sway is unbearable. The recoil on some guns is just obsurd and will cause you to just shoot the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sky after 3 bullets. The sway on any gun is also unrealistic where you will just shake all over the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ place not beiong able to hit a thing.

The Devs and supporters claim the game is supposed to be realistic. I have spotted a retarded amount of unrealistic elements in all my 1,500 hours. From what I remember the Devs claim the gun movement mechanics are realistic. Hey devs, try picking up a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gun and moving with it while aiming down sight you morons. This seriously pissed me off.

Overall, do not buy this pile of ♥♥♥♥. Don't you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dare try to claim "OOOOHHH BUT IT'S IN ALPHA," yeah, Alpha for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 3 years and the core game is still pathetically ♥♥♥♥. I wanted this to be a good game, I supported it for years and argued that it had potential, but I can no longer do that. This game is a mess and the dev team are morons.

Oh man, I missed out on this game when it came out 4 years ago. This was by far one the most immersive, grueling experiences I have had with a videogame. The story screws with your mind and questions the morality of yourself due to the actions you choose to commit. Don't want to spoil it though.

I will say this about our protagonist. You will see this man crumble from a fresh, clean shaven soldier to a hardened monster with the only thought of violence. His slow transition into this shows the true darkness of man's heart and it is sickening. Think of the men that were deployed to Vietnam in the 70's. It's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥.

The only flaw I could find with the story is the AI as they tend to get in the way at times or are just plain stupid and will sit out in the open just to get shot down. If you cannot revive them in time you lose and get reverted to the last chackpoint. I actually had to lower the difficulty because of this because the AI would be downed in the open during a giant firefight making it impossible to revive them in time.

Overall play this game it's really good.

I can't believe this game. Honestly I have never played a more rage enducing game sice Dark Souls. Literally the whole game hold your hand with it's terrible fighting mechanics where you just walk into a enemy and they take damage. Except that's screwed up because sometimes when you are trying to dodge an attack you just end up hitting the enemy and you get killed. Like why, that is so silly. Oh and the final boss. THIS BOSS MAKES ME WANT TO KILL MYSELF. The fact that the boss is hard is good, which is my fault since I chose the hard difficulty. I just got annoyed with things like the summoning circles blocking my path so I could not escape the laser cannons.

BUUUT..... The story is pretty good and has really nice leveling up mechanics. You end up farming enemies to get more materials to make better weapons and armor. Get more points to level up your character. That is the fun aspect, farming until you are a walking god that just rekts everything. Another cool thing is going back through previous areas looking for secret chests for more goodies. So exploration is good in this game. Although I think the combat is garbo (Excpt for the specials those we perfect) I would recommend this game because iz pretty gud.
