I traveled day and night
Persistent to reach my prize
The cheese shimmered so bright
I had to shield my eyes

It was a beautiful wedge
Perfectly round holes
And cut to the sharpest of edge
It looked deep into my soul

I lifted it high
I sank my teeth deep
I wanted to cry
But held back the urge to weep

None of it went to waste
It was eaten with ease
I will never forget the taste
