One of the best scripts I have seen in my life. Sit down and chill out with this game.

Only for the atmosphere they created around the Alien this game is great. Actually, I think you don't get to see the Alien until past one/two hours but the story will keep you hooked.

Puzzles and graphics are good but the way the story is told through images on the walls is amazing.

Very creative and enjoyable game.

If you are looking for a game with suspense, an interesting story and that will also test your IQ: this is it. The game will also ask very little from you to learn before starting to enjoy it. I just got involved very quickly and could not stop until the end. I think it is fantastic and very entertaining. I definitively recommend it.

This is a high pace FPS, easy to play and to enjoy.

I think there are still some details to polish in order to make it a great game but I have had a good experience overall. Off course, taking into account that there is only one dev (for what I read on the internet) working on it, we should not be asking too much of it.

This is one of the best First Person Shooters I have ever played. The graphics are also incredible for a 2014 game. I personally like the story a lot, but is not only that, it is the music, the characters that surround you, the ambient, everything! I really think 4A games nailed it here.

Black Mesa is a whole lot more than just a re-skin and slight variation of Half-Life (1996), the entire game was rebuilt from the ground up, almost every area in the game was redesigned at least slightly, some maps or even entire chapters were totally redone and barely resemble the original beyond having some familiar moments. Overall it really is a completely different experience.
I personally recommend it over Half-Life but as a matter of opinion many others don't or say you must play the original anyway.
