i've sent you a bunch of details in a chat window my friend i have at least three theories about what happened and a bunch of speculation via some testing out a few things with some friends. For now the my docs path is shut down.

Just thought I'd mention ...
You can still use other mods (not the manager mods) but the modded files have to be in the original .pak files.
So rename to .zip ... add/overwrite with the modded files by dragging them into the .zip then rename back to .pak ... done ... works.
Of course don't forget to back up the original .pak files.
