There's a lot wrong with where the devs brought the game as of late, but the base game is still outstanding.

For what it's become, I'd say you're probably better off waiting for it to go on sale, and if you see it on sale, it's a must grab. At least the base game, and horizons is pretty epic too.

It is a game you want to play with friends, as the solo experience can get super long and wearisome in the grind.
It takes some time to learn, but it can be done, and I believe for anyone. I've also found it incredibly rewarding to finally complete some of the more... labourious tasks.

Spooky.
