In current times, there aren't any singleplayer FPS games that just try to be simple. This is the one that subverted that.
Every FPS I've played in recent years, even if truly amazing, had its success partially carried by it having some kind of gimmick to make it unique. Ultrakill has its style system and unconventional gunplay, DRG has its irreplaceable guns and cooperation, Cruelty Squad has its... everything... you get the point.
All this game has is kicks, dropkicks and duel wielding. The rest is fun gunplay and, well, just kinda feeling cool. And if the game's fun, that's more then enough for me.
Yes its hard, yes it can be rage inducing, but I think its one sweet simple treat of a shooter

Okay, so you've probably heard:
Pizza Tower VS Antonblast

My answer is:
How good are you at platformers?
- Not much: Play Pizza Tower
- Yes much: Play Antonblast

If you don't get it keep reading..

Antonblast is MUCH harder to learn and master then PT. The movement needs so much more delicacy to use well because the ground bounce move uses the exact same button as the dash/run (on the ground to dash, midair to bounce). You can probably tell this will be annoying - but then over time you master it and now you can suddenly go infinitely faster, which is where I'd say Antonblast shines more:

It's just more fun.
But it's harder.

...eeexcept for the Combo trials! I don't think having what is nearly a "nohit" mode in a reckless and fast game is a good idea. Not even mentioning that several levels just cheap out on the Combo mode and leave u with many parts that feel unfair and WILL end your current run unless you remember them
Don't worry though, those are just 100% content.

Oh, and, don't get me wrong, you can still enjoy and be good at this game even if you aren't a god gamer.

This is the first roguelike I've played thats 0% precise button mashing skills and 100% strategy. It took an 13 year old me to trial and error out all the basics.
10/10 would dung again.

I only found it fun up to when i got the second stem cell, sorry...
Every winning run i had revolved around getting "that good type of weapon" with 500 attributes.
I seriously don't like using almost ANY of the weapons, just except for those that I do like, which is a problem because everything feels so damn stale.
And when I do give them a shot I also just so happen to get combo-ed to death in a second by an enemy I don't know because I decided to pick a different area to the one you have by default.

Kill, Die, Learn, Repeat, as long as you have motivation in you...

You either have the softest spot in your heart reserved for this game, or you just hate it:
be it for the development, unsatisfactory gameplay loop, or just something else.

I'd recommend this to fans of casual gaming or if it literally just interests you. Chances are you'll magically like it if it does, actually (look back at the first paragraph of my review).

You know this game.

Also always remember to crouch around dogs. It's only funny the first time.

Feels like an MMO minus all the stress of random strangers doing stuff around you.
Things take long to do and everything is difficult, in the best way possible.
I'm sure all the other reviews talk about its zombie survival aspect (go read those if you wanna know more about that >:]) but for me its really just about having a game I can spend insane amounts of time in with my friends.

I've had playthroughs that shaped my entire friendgroup. Inside jokes, even drama and the like.
If you've got people who are up to play this with you, I really insist you do.

Oh my god, this game is such a fresh take on colony management and survival. Simple at heart but full of complexity the longer you realize you're running out of starter resources, it's just so fun to actually feel the weight of your work because your colonists are slow at doing things.
I'd recommend it to anyone who loves colony management or is looking for a new survival game to play.
also makes you realize how not even the government likes dealing with taxes cuz they take so long to figure out

A simple but fun and engaging city builder/colony management sim.
Most of those games I've played (check my game count 👍) just don't stick after just a few hours.
Timberborn still has me concerned with making everything as efficient possible without losing any enjoyment.
