Before I got into this game I never played a (grand) Strategy game, so I did not know what to expect. Boy, was I in for a ride. This game revolves around the American civil war where you take a side and by a turn by turn basis play. And it can get loooong. Basically its a never ending game. Something that quickly striked me is that this game isn't easy. Far from it. I'm not sure if this habit exists in all strategy games but It is complicated. I have never played a game with that many options and choices. And a lot of text to read. The reason I am bringing this up is becauseI want to emphasize that this game, if you're in a position like me and want to try out strategy, it's not a ‘sit down and relax’ type of game. It requires focus and wil (and a lot of time). However, if you're willing to overcome this barrier, it is very fun. I myself, after confusingly trying to overcome the learning barrier, I was soon sucked into the game. There's just so much to do that could cause this or that. You could literally start a new game and it would take hundreds of hours until you have discovered everything. You could try to reenact what really happened, what you wish would have happened, or what could have happened if it was for the change of some factors. Having gone into this game not knowing anything on the civil war, I found this to be a great game to learn more of the civil war if you're not familiar with it and wish to broaden your horizon on it.

The graphics are beautiful in that everything was crisp. Having used a program to monitor CPU/GPU/RAM usage, I found that this can even be played on the weakest computers. No need for a special GPU or something. And this was in every setting of the game which is a big plus. However, if possible I would recommend that you limit your FPS as it can easily go crazy and cause the PC to work harder than it has to.

Lastly, to sum up this review I want to look at, what you are probably already wondering right now (I mean you're reading this review for a reason right?): Is this game worth it? For me, Yes, it is worth it. This game can bring hours upon hours of fun with it. Easily hundreds of hours if you wish to explore every aspect this game has to offer. However, keep in mind that this can also be a negative. It can easily become addictive and make you lose track of time if you don't pay attention to your playing time. Play in moderations and this shouldn't be an issue. Lastly, it runs on every computer making it very lucrative for those that do not have a high end setup. All in all I would therefore say, good luck future soldier and may you win the battle! :)
