Greedy little b******. Progression impossible, even with payment, just to ensure you'll pay more longer.

By far the best VR experience yet. All mechanisms simplified to the perfect level, where they are enjoyable and immersive instead of fiddly and annoying. Nearly everything you can touch is somehow interactive, from crayons to light switches. Only thing missing: Melee, even though I understand that, because when I look at Boneworks, it's easy to see that there is no fully immersive implementation of melee and force feedback in VR yet. I try to avoid melee in Boneworks for that reason, it just feels strange, which probably is the reason they dropped it here. The athmosphere is easily the best one shown in VR yet.

EDIT: Just finished the game after approximately 13 hours. Wow. The ending left me somewhat stunned standing around in my room. This is really by far the best VR experience on the market.

This is the first review I'm writing on steam, since I've registered several years ago. Sadly I'm not doing it because I had a surprisingly enjoyable game. This is, by far, the most disappointing full price title I've ever put my hands on.

But lets start with the positive things: Background story. It's one of most creative scenarios I've seen for a long time. The game mechanics improve that feeling, I really like the mechanism of taking joy to hide, but boy don't try too much of it! The encounters are creative, there is quite a lot of things to explore. The survival mechanics that are left after early access are nice. They do not enforce you to loot all the time, but they encourage you to take a look at some corners, there might be something to pick up. The fight system is extremely simple, but well I somehow enjoy it unless I struggle about bugs.

Which brings me to the one thing that turns the whole game into a disappointment. There are PLENTY of GAME BREAKING bugs. Missions that are stuck at some point, enforcing you to restart the game to be able to continue. Missions stuck at some point without you ever being able to finish. Plenty of crashes throughout the time. Broken AI fights, where they start doing strange things and somehow teleport around you. This is by far the most buggy full price game release I've seen in the past years. I don't know who is responsible for this, the studio or the publisher that joined later on, but this is not okay. I've bought the game when it became early access, which is the only reason I did not request an refund immediately. As this is, at least for me on a personal level, close to fraud, charging me money for a nearly unplayable game, I might try to request one anyways. Sadly it wont work I assume.

Oh: Some people say something about framedrops or bad performance in general. This was not the case on my system. I assume the majority of bugs I've been struggling with in the past hours to be system independent.

Short edit: I have not finished the story right now, as I'm writing this because the game crashed. Again. I'll maybe update this when I managed it to the end.
