"From the moment you start, Kenshi gives you a warm welcome by handing you a rusty sword and a one-way ticket to the nearest bandit gang’s beating stick. Your first quest? Try not to die. Your second quest? Realize that dying is just part of the charm. After all, what doesn't kill you makes you slightly less pathetic.

The game's graphics are lovingly crafted to remind you that you don't need pretty visuals to have a good time. The landscapes are vast and barren, making you appreciate the beauty of absolutely nothing as you trudge through the desert for hours. It’s like a minimalist painting, if the artist was really into making you suffer.

The character creation is a delight, offering you a range of options from 'starving waif' to 'starving waif with a slightly different nose.' But don't worry, you can recruit companions to share in your misery. These companions come with their own set of tragic backstories and are just as inept as you, ensuring that you all fail together in the most heartwarming way possible.

Combat in Kenshi is where the game truly shines. It's a tactical dance of flailing limbs and screaming, where every encounter is a nail-biting experience because even a small group of hungry goats can send you back to the loading screen. And let's not forget the joy of waking up in a recovery coma after being beaten unconscious. It’s like a spa day, but with more internal bleeding.

Base building is another highlight. Starting from nothing, you slowly erect a series of shacks that make the fire festival tents look luxurious. You'll fend off raids from enemies who heard you have three pieces of bread and a rusty spoon, all while your workers complain about hunger, injury, and the general misery of existence.

In conclusion, Kenshi is a masterclass in making the player work for every scrap of progress. It's a beautifully brutal sandbox where every victory feels earned because it probably cost you several limbs and a good portion of your sanity. If you enjoy games that kick you while you're down and laugh while you try to get back up, Kenshi is the game for you. Just remember, in the land of Kenshi, the only thing more dangerous than the wildlife is your own incompetence."
