Most of the negative reviews are completely off base. The game is hard. FromSoftware games are known and marketed to be hard. But it is nowhere near impossible. I have a level 149 character, and beat one boss in 2 attempts, and 1 boss in one attempt. That isn't to say that there aren't difficult enemies- there is another boss that I haven't even managed to get past the first 1/3 of his health bar, but it's very clear that I'm just going to have to change my strategy to beat it because melee isn't working very well. Many people are complaining that enemies just seem to never stop attacking- there are a few that I would totally agree have insanely long attack windows. But it's literally just like any other FromSoftware game- be patient and wait for a window, or use staggering attacks/abilities that will interrupt them, and use the tools given to you, and you'll be fine. If not, legitimately just get better at the game

This is a mixed review, simply because there is such a dichotomy that exists on this game. Single Player and multiplayer are two completely different experiences, and I feel like people should know what they're getting into. Overall, I highly recommend this game if you have at least two friends to play with. The missions are difficult, but the more people you have the more fun and easier it will be.

Multiplayer is by and far the BEST way to experience this game. You can communicate, use tactical gear effectively, and overall have a great experience in one of the most immersive SWAT style tactical shooters out there. Customization is fun, there's a large variety in weapons to use, and the gameplay feels incredibly rewarding when working as a team. I play with a group of anywhere from 2-4 other friends and it's awesome when we do.

That being said, the single player experience in this game is absolutely MISERABLE. The enemy AI is pretty aggressive, but for some reason, the AI on your squad is horrible. They will almost never actually cover you when a threat comes forward. As a single player, I find myself using the Opti-Wand to look under doors and get an idea of whats coming next- I have had so many instances where instead of covering me, my squad will let someone kick down a door and shoot me in the back 5 times. They ALWAYS wait until I'm dead to even engage a threat. This has happened to me 4 times in a row on the MindJot data center and it makes me wonder what the point even is of bringing a squad- i'd actually prefer to run it solo and just have a bag to go replenish my tactical gear by the infiltration point. When commanded to breach and clear, the flashbangs they throw are horrendous. Half of the time they don't follow through with orders anyway. What's worse, the customization options are based on your performance in missions- as a single player, it's honestly better to just mag-dump every enemy on the spot to ensure that they don't just snap to you and kill you, because your squad is almost useless as support, so you can't take chances. Hopefully they tweak the friendly AI because right now it's horrendous.

There are some huge flaws with this game- the decision to seemingly cut the intro, it doesn't seem like it matters outside of dialogue options what faction you chose to start as (nomad, corpo, streetkid), driving overall is pretty bad and the AI is somewhat dull. Having said that, I think part of the problem with this game is everyone's expectations and some of the comments that the developers made about features they wanted to implement. I went into this game expecting a cyberpunk version of Witcher 3- nothing more, nothing less, a game with similar systems for upgrading weapons, with more character customization, and a story-driven gameplay. This is not like a GTA open world sandbox, which from what I gather is what a lot of people think it was supposed to be. Obviously they have some work to do to make this game better than the 6-7/10 that it is right now, however I do like the main story so far and with a little bit of work and a few additions, this game could be really great. I would also like to say that for anyone like me who played Witcher 3, it was extremely buggy and some systems absolutely sucked at launch (May 2015) and it won GOTY in 2016. I have a lot of faith that they will put the time and effort into making this game work based on Witcher 3. PC players will definitely not have most of the bugs that console players have (there are bugs though). I run a gtx 1080 and the game runs fine and looks pretty good. I'd say 6-7/10 atm, will most likely improve after feb with stability patches, and hopefully adding more features/content that people want or expected after april/may
