Good game (forgetting about balance patches atm), poor monetization quality (Tekken shop/mostly battle pass quality) and poor player base, most player matches are 1 & dones (like iirc, 75%+) be it them winning a match or just Instant leave when they lose a single match so forget about finding any players/new mates to mutually improve with and with that being the case, I don't even want to think about or touch ranked matches until both balance is addressed and match making/at least plugging gets penalized more but I guess with a more "aggressive" mission statement (from the devs) it makes Players npc's even more aggressive with either their cable, application or W/L record.

Fun Story, nice visuals and good performance options, extra games modes by default/more coming later (for free?). Hefty fighting game roster (balance is all over the place, its wack right now), good character customisation (one of the best for a fighting game), "Jukebox" option to redo any score or back ground music from any other score or bgm in the Tekken library and you can have multiple playlists, new "heat"system is nice, should be nerfed more in terms of counter play against it though or atleast more applications/utility for it.

Also I main Kazuya, if you are curious what character I experience this this matchmaking/ community interactions with. I'm still going to continue playing the game to keep learning/practising where I can and cause I find Tekken (in general) to be pretty hype but unless you have passion for Tekken/ have a pre-existing mate to play and learn with, then hold off on this for what would probably (unfortunately) be anywhere from 6 months to a year before the developers really put the work in to really settle down the match-making and the community*.

If you still want to play and have a wired connection that is good for my location (UK), then feel free to add me, would love some long training/learning sessions.

2 Reviews in one: Early impressions and post-completion
Score:
- Overall it will be the perfect 7/10 after patches
- Personal 8/10 (ignoring performance)
- currently due to poor performance 6/10
(it is also a complete package of a game especially for open world (j)rpg format)
I played DD1 (I view as the best 7/10 game there was at the time) back in the day for a scale ig.

Game is good good, only main thing is hold off until better performance if you want a constant smooth 60+fps/ if you IN PRINCIPLE believe any and all micro transactions in a game is bad and wrong.

(SUB 10 hours)- Impressions

Nice game thus far, feels like a real sequel to the first one (premises, game-play, world expansion etc.)

Big issue by far for now is performance and fps, I have a 4070 Ti Super and 5950x cpu, and can barley keep a smooth 60 in the real open world (dense) areas or cities be it 4k ray tracing max setting or minimum settings 1080p, cities are hovering between 30-50 fps, so if you don't want to deal with locked 30fps game play, then hold off until performance optimisations.

Micro-transactions are fair priced and in a single player game, if you really want to, you can just mod/CE them in.

This truly does have the potential to be great it just needs those few weels/ months of optimisation that in all honesty should have been handled more that it was before the release.

Single save file (auto save) but you can load a previous save from your lasted rest at an inn (to undo something, if you didn't like the outcome of a quest or action), after the last patch you can now make a new save if you already had an existing one (previous save gets deleted I think) and there is NG+ with that single save slot and lvl cap is 999

-(Post 90 hour) Completion

The main issue by far with this game is its performance, the micro transactions are completely forgettable as an additional purchase as you earn more than enough through just playing the game, not even grinding, outside of if you wanted to hire pawns way above your level range if you don't want to play the game yourself and just play walking simulator, if so you do you ig.

The world time and quests are still connected like the first game, so if a boy got taken by wolves then you best hurry rescuing him otherwise if you leave it a day or two ingame, he will be dead. There are timed fail states and choice fail states for quests/alternate endings for quests that you wont be told about but have to use ingenuity, excluding hiring other players pawns that have already done that quest, as they will help guide you ingame instead of looking online like alot of modern games expect you to.

There is no set difficulty slider but there is a dynamic difficulty at work dependant on your performance as you are playing, they've smoothed out alot of edges, such as more wakestones (revives) to be found in the world (still on the rarer side for loot tho) and more fast travel items to be found in the world too and these can become essential in crossing large distances without worrying about the ingame timer for when you are walking on foot or with a oxcart (a taxi that can be ambushed) later in the game.

Vocations have been streamlined to cover basis whilst still trying to make each of them feel unique, they all have some form of a master skill, there is much more variety for equipment than the first game, (little tip) if you are levelling up all the vocations thoughtout the course of your playthrough, do warfarer last.

Pawns (companions) are even more essential, complex and generally more helpful than the first game. Pawns have shortcut commands now for general interaction when exploring the world such as going to platforms you cant reach because of vocation or lack of ingenuity and these short cut commands transfers over in combat as strategy commands, such as go all out, assist party, assist me, be patience and have distance from enemy, pawns can also be equipped with traits, unique mechanics that they can have only one of at a time, with both vocations and pawns you can make some dynamic and interesting party set ups, especially with the "detailed pawn search" feature at any main rift.

You can have the entire game 1 person party or up to a full 4 party set up, which ever you prefer. The encouragement to trade out pawns as you level up is good as it also promotes pseudo-playing with friends too/building good vibes online between other players whom you'll never meet.

Enemy variety is there, its not super diverse but you will regularly be introduced to both new enemies/ revamped enemies. The climbing with stamina mechanic to remove certain pieces off of enemies or to not let it take flight and leave or to get to its weak point feels good and engaging when in combat.

Story and world lore have been expanded on without being forced, there are true endings and truer and even truer truer endings to this game, its nice.

This game WILL hold you accountable to your decisions and actions/inactions in the world, it is designed to both be taken in stride whilst having fun but also take your your playthrough seriously to get the most out of it, would be my tip.

Also there is already a pretty decent modding scene for this game and will probably only grow with time, even though I purchased the delux edition, I felt like I got my money's worth, since I'm already looking at doing another 2 playthroughs (alternate choices etc.) before even bringing mods in.

If you think you're good at fps', play this, you'll be humbled.
If you think you're bad at fps', play this, you'll get good (and die trying).
If you like killing demons, play this and you'll be killing all of hell.
If like good music, play this album, it comes with 3 free games on top.
And if you like good polished well made AAA games, play this, its a nice change of pace.

P.S. Play it on NIGHTMARE scrub , get over it.

Currentley i like it (not love it) but its endgame is very boring but gearbox is trying to get 2k austalia to fix it by making more bosses farmable, which is a good thing.

When you complete it you get true vaulter mode like its been in the series thus far however it feels very bland. The aesthetics is quite boring and most of the areas feels like its just one big area but thats to be expected becuase it is on the moon, there is one big thing about this game that really annoys me is that (personal opinion here) on nearley all main missions have sooo many detours eg. on a perticular area (going try not to reveal a spoiler) when you are meant to get robitc turrents and legs you literally have to go all over the map, but i understand the vanilla game size is quite small (aprox 5.4 GB) so we would have to be thorough on maps to make the most out of it.

now with most of the bad stuff out of the way good points: scaling of enemies and wepons is very nicley done, guns are more balanced (not fixed though) than they were in borderlands 2, you will get your first skill point at level 3 and so you will have a few more skills to buy, they have not made cryo as game breakingley over powered as slag in borderlands 2, charcter interact more with each other ,both NPC's and your playable characters, lazers are balanced extremely well to the point that it is your fault if they act good or bad, unless you got the unlucky chance of having a bad one And thats all folks.
