Hades is a game that is objectively polished, stylized rogue-lite with colorful characters and a great soundtrack. These qualities hold true regardless of how someone might feel about this game. Combat is fast-paced and the diverse boons can roll you a broken build once you get to know them. The music composed by Darren Korb is enough to get your blood pumping during those runs, making you truly feel like a rebellious son fighting against the odds to escape. But when you fail and die, the other side of the game takes the stage. Hades masterfully weaves gameplay and narration into a seamless loop where once you die, you are respawned back in your house. You get to talk with characters and explore a tale in Greek Mythology that is fed to you in small but meaningful chunks of dialogue. All the characters are well-written, brimming with personality, voiced fantastically, and are truly a highlight of the game. And once you are done talking with them, you get ready to do another run to escape hell.

Recently, I was watching Astarion's voice actor's speech about how many fans of the game have reached out to the team, saying they feel represented, and their game helped them push through some tough times when they were feeling isolated. This made me reflect on my own experience. While I really enjoyed my time with Baldur's Gate 3, I didn't feel that way with the game. So, what could be "that" game for me? The answer was sitting there all along: that game for me was Hades. The tale of Zagreus and his struggle with family is something quite personal to me. The story, dialogue, and songs all resonate deeply with me. Even after finishing the story and experiencing most of what the game has to offer, I still think about it often. For me, Hades is an all-around masterpiece.

Thank you Amir Rao, Greg Kasavin, Darren Korb, Jen Zee, and the rest of the team at Supergiant Games for this amazing work of art. I can't wait to experience Hades II the same way!

I am doing my part

Edit: Recent balancing patches have made game quite fun and Arrowhead themselves seems to be going on a right direction but there is still Sony PSN account requirement.
