This is my LEAST FAVORITE non-fromsoft souls-like! No way I'd be able to rate this among their games!
It's extremely bad, and there's no way I'd do multiple playthroughs!
The weapon building mechanic is unoriginal, and the combat isn't very fluid, failing to build off of what Sekiro has already accomplished.
Its take on the story of Pinocchio is bland and edgy. I'd rather just watch "Pinocchio: A True Story"!
Definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone who likes soulsborne or dark fantasy action in general.

I was already attracted by the 64-style visuals and the goofy artstyle, but this game is super fun!
It's a collectathon adventure without giving you too much of a grocery list, while still making sure your brain cells are functioning as much as they can.

The story, plot, and lore are also very bare bones, which is a bit of a refresher. It never takes itself too seriously.

I'd say the only downside is the length of the game. If you know what you're doing, you can finish the whole thing in just a few hours. But those are a fantastic few hours.

The online playerbase/meta can be very intimidating to new players, especially those not acquainted to the more offense-heavy platform fighters like Rivals of Aether and Smash Bros. Melee, but this is certainly a fun game overall, even fun on a casual scale which I feel the first game didn't do a very good job of.

Honestly a pretty fun game to play with buddies. There's just a few fatal flaws in my opinion.

-One is obviously the inclusion of a BP type system. Inducing FOMO is just a horrendously scummy idea that so many game devs just seem so incredibly okay with these days. I initially got back into the game because I saw a very cool Bat costume, only to find out it was from a pass that ended a few months ago.

-Another is that the achievements are bugged and don't transfer well between console and PC, which should be a non-issue if you don't plan to play this on multiple systems.

-Thirdly, and this is very weird for a Battle Royale game with grind achievements, there is no way to properly track your stats within the game itself, so you'll never know how many wins you've gotten unless you write it down yourself.

The meanest thing I can say is that this is how the original DS1 *should've* launched on PC.
They still never fixed the bonfire glitch in RTX OFF Anor Londo, but other than that it's an overall improvement.

If you're looking for a fun, rewarding team-based FPS, look elsewhere.

Overwatch was probably my most played game in 2016 and 2017. Got every achievement (Prior to Doomfist) on the PS4 version and had an absolute ball with it. I'm not sure what was going on in the heads of the developers between then and now.
But what is it now? A ton of false promises to distract us from the many awful things Blizzard has done. Heck, I'd even be able to live with that if the game was fun to make progress on, but now it's just battlepasses and other predatory forms of microtransactions. Every new hero use to be free so that nobody was left in the dust when it came to learning how they worked, and thus learning how to counter them. Now, the only way to learn is by forking over some cash.

Overwatch 1 had lootboxes, yes, but at least you can play to earn those back then and still get neat skins and whatnot without spending a nickle.

This game really is just a shadow of what it use to be. More content won't fix the game.
