bear in mind, i haven't finished omori yet (i'll update my review once i do if my opinion changes significantly). that being said: this game is wonderful. atmospherically, there is a very well-constructed, loneliness/emptiness surrounding everything. each piece of artwork has such a cute charm, how can you not love their characters? for the simplicity within general gameplay, its plot sure is convoluted in a refreshing, moving sense. i'm certain many people will empathize with it in their own ways as well. you'll never stop questioning something and the beginning will have your expectations flip-flopping if you aren't sure of what you're getting into. omori's soundtrack is extremely pleasant to play through, newly introduced songs are always welcomed. its combat system is quite fun, as i have a soft spot for being able to play with status effects. ...do i confidently grasp whats going on 15 hours in? not......much. but hey ! that's part of the fun in this journey which keeps pulling me back in for more. i'm excited to experience omori's ending and to play it again despite my lack of first-time completion.

(EDIT)
i've now finished the game and what can i say? it was a wild ride i've grown seriously attached to. this game is definitely not for the sensitive type, as it warns in the beginning. the emotional rollercoaster i took part in by playing this game was well worth all the confusion and occasional frustration. omori is purely a recommendation from a friend i never thought i'd take much interest into (as i rarely enjoy pixelated games), yet here i am, wanting to collect as many achievements and endings as i possibly can. if you're a lover of psychological themes, i can't recommend playing it enough. twenty dollars for this kind of thing is totally under-priced in my opinion. you'll be in for an unforgettable experience, you weird-looking sprout mole.

yes, yes, yes. a thousand times yes. the music adds a seriously awesome mood to the game and all the characters have pretty charming/witty dialog. each time you die, you want to go right back to your inevitable doom again. again and again. this game is hard to put down once you start but unfortunately i have things to get done or else id probably spend the next 10 hours on this. i swear i told myself at least 5 times "one more run". hot demons and ass kicking. getting so wrapped up in the heat of the moment that your game playing abilities absolutely fly out the window on occasion. goodbye neural activity. what else could you possibly ask for?

at the time i wrote this review i originally had 19 hours and was in a state of euphoria, but ive come back from the dead to edit it and give a MoreAccurateReview™. the game is very easy to get the hang of from the beginning. its an utterly casual, chewing gum kind of experience. walk around, do tasks, debate other people, someone gets booted out, so on and so forth. the concept is so solid and its easy to get lost in hours of fun. THAT BEING SAID. LMAO. the fact that theres no penalty for constantly lobby dropping is mildly irritating. the feature should definitely be implemented somehow. plus, good lord people need to learn how to strategize without jumping the gun. its gotten better for sure in comparison to how players were back in the day, considering it was mostly made up of a lot of young kids playing. teaming is also a no go. dont be that guy. whats the point of partaking in an "investigation" type game if you are gonna ruin the investigation part of it for everyone with foul play.
