To really get the most out of this game you HAVE to join a guild.
If you avoid guild related content you're going to miss out of the majority of the systems they put into the game.

That being said, I love this game. Get on voice comms with 60 other people and take a castle. Nuff said.

This is so far from the older final fantasy games, more action less RPG. Still, the story is amazing and the battles feel so EPIC.
