This isn't so much a review as a comment. What exactly did those of us who paid for this game pay for if everyone else can play it for free now?

I actually don't mind the fact that I paid for the development of a game that most people seem to enjoy but I never got around to playing among my 2400+ other games. Just kind of a bummer I guess. It seems there is no longer premium DLC since I posted this review, so I'm assuming everyone now gets it for free and they've made enough off this game or in app purchases only now?

Simply put this game is awesome. If you're a fan of cyberpunk and strategy, this is a great game. I haven't had as much time to play this game as I'd like, but I can say this is one that I won't be uninstalling until I finish it. If you don't mind a challenge, ignore the naysayers. If you prefer a game to hold you hand, you might want to try titles rated for children...

Fired it up. Loaded the campaign. The AI gave me two messages and went away. Unclear on how to proceed given that I see no option to complete the first objective and cannot build anything. Tried sandbox mode. Same issue. Ugh...

If this happens to you just make sure the tutorial is activated in options since this didn't seem to be a default. It is a rather interesting game and I can't wait to make more time for it.

I have to say I have mixed feelings about this game. It's a fun game if you're just looking to fill a few hours for $5, but you really can't expect much beyond that. The AI is predictable and easy and there doesn't seem to be much variation from one boxer to the next. The challenge does get tighter as you move up in the tournaments, but if you decide to restart tournaments that you've already won, you can grind your way to the top skills very easily and completely decimate the AI.

This game has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the lack of players online makes what could be a decent MP boxing game a rather short and less than stellar single player game in career mode. While, I'm sure it would be more rewarding to not grind it out and actually beat the game in succession, there just doesn't seem to be much of a point unless you want to balance out the challenge and perhaps bother collecting all of the achievements.

Despite all of this, I did have fun even despite the grind for 7 hours which isn't bad considering the $5 price tag. While, I do wish there were more players online and a more varied single player career mode, I can't say this isn't worth buying or playing because it is.

In conclusion, I am in fact recommending this game especially at its current price. I would definitely be willing to pay $20 for a more polished sequel with better AI and more players to take advantage of the multiplayer mode.

BYTE SIZE REVIEW:

I don't post a lot of reviews, but I have long been a fan of Sid Meier's games. That being said, despite not playing this game for very long (and I will updated this review at that point in time), I don't have much time to play games anyway so thought I would share my thoughts thus far.

This game is amazing. It so far reminds me of a space version of Pirates! which is fun in and of itself. The object of the game is to control over half of the galaxy. This can be accomplished, by spreading your influence, completing missions, etc. You get to choose both your faction (for lack of a better word since I don't recall what each group is called) as well as your hero (much like nations and skills in Pirates!). I'm really looking forward to playing more of this, but I am definitely recommending this for now. :)

I must say that despite my disappointment that many of the features that were suggested as possibilities did not make it into the alpha and most likely will not make it into the 1.0 release. It would be nice if Double Fine Productions were willing to keep this game in a beta state and continue active development of it, but despite this, I still find this to be a very fun game with a lot of potential. Thankfully, that potential won't be wasted. Double Fine is including the lua source for developers to mod this game. While, this would be a very fun project to undertake, unfortunately I don't have the monetary resources to take a year or two off of life to mod this myself. While this game in its current state is fun and enjoyable, it lacks the depth to justify the price tag in my opinion. I think with a little more effort to add these features instead of relying on the modding community, a lot of these reviews would be a lot more favorable. That being said, I love this game for what it is and even more for what it has the potential to be which is the only reason I'm recommending it.

Wow. Not only does this game bring back memories, but it is badass! I can't remember the last time I've had so much time playing pacman aside from the ms. pacman counterpart on the oldschool tabletop arcade that came with galaga. nothing else compares!!!

Hell yeah. If you don't mind having fun whilst getting owned, this is a badass game!
